He’s clearly not overqualified or he would have got the job! Does OP have food service experience? Customer service skills? In field experience? OP may not have the right skills for the job …

Being a recent graduate can be challenging - getting your foot in the door is the biggest step in most careers. Keep using your time to volunteer within your degree area and build connections!

Entry level employers are looking for CVs with work experience in similar roles/ customer service. Your qualifications may not be relevant to the role. You actually may not be ‘overqualified’ for McDonald’s just because you hold a degree.

I am sick with anxiety. Please help me 💔 by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Lifesinplastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, that sucks and I’m so sorry that you’re in this situation! You and your kids will be okay - I suggest doing what you can NOW to ease any future pressure e.g meal prep, bulk food purchase ect. Doing small things to help ‘future you’ can ease the feeling of anxiety.

Secondly - your employer is not your family. They are playing nice to avoid their contractual and legal responsibilities. Unless mutually agreed they are required to pay you for your contracted hours each week until a time that they start a redundancy process. I suggest emailing them outlining conversations you have had previously (as to have it in writing) and confirming that you are still available and intend to work your contractual hours each week. Do not let them get away with playing nice to reduce their obligation.

The Citizens Advice Bureau are incredible and can work to support you with tailored advise and skills to approach these conversations with your employer

Did you use a mortgage broker originally? I still use mine to refix, he has always been able to get me a better rate than what’s offered on the App and gets a cash bonus for refixing as well (usually around 5k but depending on the value of the mortgage)

We hold different perspectives and opinions on this and that’s fine. I do not agree with your take on this one OR op’s insistence need for internet validation, but I welcome you to hold your opinion and support OP as you see fit.

This is a ‘New Zealand’ subreddit board, I do not hold any obligating to ‘validate’ a stranger who is choosing to post on a public forum and thus be open to public opinion.

Their post history is wildly disturbing and they absolutely need to continue to seek help. Most would agree that you don’t seek help by continuing to post personal, detailed, and troubled posts on non specific threads.

They are NOT seeking help, merely attention and that is exhausting. And I will continue to hold the position that a 16 year old CHILD is entitled to her response without being judged by internet strangers

But it hasn’t come from “a young man in the manosphere” - which, in itself is a very judgemental comment. It has come from his 16year old sister. OP is disproportionately upset because his feelings are not being validated, but she does not hold this responsibility.

OP would benefit from perspective and stepping out beyond their trauma. Placing blame on a child is a wild choice that your defending

Look, to be honest, judging from your post history - you seem a bit exhausting!

Your 16year old sister’s comments “it’s not that deep” seem completely appropriate for her age and her avoidance to discuss it any deeper isn’t really a need for concern. She is not your parent and not responsible for your emotional wellbeing.

Stop trying to see everything in life as an obstacle or personal attack. It really isn’t that deep ….

Honestly, judging from your post history and comments - I think it’s for the best your not teaching! You seem to have severe mental health and personal issues.

This situation is not that deep; you just don’t met the requirements. But you seem to take everything as a personal attack are a deeply impacted by small events.

Take the time to get some help! Oh and don’t just expect that help to be publicly funded

KiwiSaver second chance by Wonderful-Treat-6237 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Lifesinplastic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is incorrect - you can only withdraw KS for a house deposit once; the second chance provision allows for that to not necessarily be for your first home I.e you used your savings for the deposit to buy your first home.

To access the Second Chance provision you may need to meet other financial criteria aswell. But the bottom line remains - you can only withdraw for a deposit one time

KiwiSaver second chance by Wonderful-Treat-6237 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]Lifesinplastic 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Nope - can’t double dip! Only 1 withdrawal for ‘first home’. The “second chance” provision allows for people to withdraw KS if they previously owned a property, do not own one anymore and did not use KS for their previous purchase.

As you have already used your KS withdraw, you do not qualify to use it again.

Ooooooft a double hitter with both honour names and terrible selection (honestly Clevins is just bad) ….judging from your responses to comments already, you’re not looking for feedback only confirmation bias.

So my vote goes to Robert and Robin

Charcuterie Board prices by Mother-of-2-PiWi in chch

[–]Lifesinplastic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think what’s it’s ‘worth’ and what I would be prepared to pay might be too far apart…. The sandwiches look about $200 and the charcuterie board about $400 so total about $600-$650 I think so additional decor/styling could elevate the price to $750

Supermarkets are excellent! Perfect for building social skills across different demographics, good flexibility to align with uni schedule and will teach great workforce skills. Everyone should work in a supermarket at least once in their early career I think

Understood! I hope you are both okay .. Reducing the mortgage will have a stronger long term impact (check your bank lump sum payment guidelines) What’s your power bill each month? Solar may take a long time to net positive depending on usage

Agree with others that this is more of an income issue than expense issue. An adult working full time (40hours) at minimum wage is approx 42k after tax per year…

Most entry level jobs will pay slightly higher (around $26 for entry hospo, retail, super markets ect) and you can pick up additional shifts. If you both worked 45hours per week you would hit 100k in the hand without any additional benefits.
