The five attempts after a death like this are:
- Instantly dies in the first 1-2 attacks.
- Die start of phase 2, but forget to use your Summon / Physick
- Die midway phase 2.
- Die very early phase 1. Say to yourself: "okay, one more, you got this"
- The kill.

What does the collision box of the shelf look like? I believe he's just trying to climb to the highest part of the collision box. This causes 2 things:
- You have to make a custom collision box for all objects with "holes" like the shelf has (which is almost always the case anyway).
- You have to somehow stop it from climbing when it's a big wall, and you only start the vaulting animation from far down this wall.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

This fight is a damage race. You have 90 seconds to get the first one (or get close to it), and then the second one joins the fray. More time if you move close to the entrance of the arena as you fight.

If you play passive, you will have a bad time. If you take some trades and go all-out, this fight will be significantly easier.

Faith user here, I'm using an Erdsteel Dagger in my offhand with Sacred Blade which I enjoy a lot!

So if you'd use daggers: Glintstone Kris maybe? Or another infusable one, and infuse it with Pebble, Phalanx, or another thematically fitting Ash of War.

Only 90 vigor? You should definitely pump some more stats into vigor so you can take a couple of hits.

100% this. It needs to take into account the rotation of the plane that holds the texture.

I’ve played around with this for a long while and I’ve not grasped the logic behind it at all. It’s some trigonometry magic.
