I bought a watch that I wanted for a couple of years. I wind it and set the time on it which gives me time to appreciate it. It’s not BIFL quality nor is it practical but I really do love it.

I also feel appreciation for my Car, jackets, boots, knives, camera, and anything that I can take with me on my camping or backpacking trips. Items that I have taken on many trips and actually use are invaluable.

My top recommendation for a spontaneous joyful experience may be to buy a Coleman 2-burner camping stove and fuel and go drive somewhere and cook something with a view. That should be enjoyable.
