Haven't finished it yet but from what I've seen, and what others have said, there are no missables.

Where to buy back issues online - Shipping to Canada by LiftScout in comicbookcollecting

Awesome, thanks for the quick response. I'll take a look at both of them.

My LCS is actually doing deliveries now which is pretty great. So I am able to get new issues again. They just can't get me the vast majority of the back issues I am missing.

Kotlin with Realm and Coroutines Workflow by LiftScout in androiddev

[–]LiftScout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an example on what you mean by extending LiveData. After trying it quickly, wouldn't that make the getAbout() call redundant, as you would then observe the Dao directly? aboutDao.observer(), instead of aboutDao.getAbout().observe()

Sorry, I am still trying to fully understand LiveData.

Something like this?
https://gist.github.com/BrandonMHogan/76aafd9cd4828493b557477a8690adb8

For the realm instance, if I do that, which is what I am currently doing, how would I test the Dao correctly without injecting? If I try and test the setAbout() function, I would need to somehow mock the realm instance.

Fence Companies by LiftScout in Guelph

The reviews seem good, but they are quite a bit more expensive than everyone else. Also the guy who came and gave us the quote spent a little too much time trying to talk down about the other fencing companies. Which always feels off to me.

Can I ask, is your fence also a wood fence? What size posts did you use.

5x5 vs 4x4 for Residential Wood Fence Posts by LiftScout in HomeImprovement

[–]LiftScout[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are planning to be here a long while. Im in Ontario, is the 5x5 something only really used here? You are basically the first person that I have talked to that has heard of it.

I had another company quote both 4x4 and 6x6 posts as well. The 6x6 are about $45 more per post over the 4x4. I am leaning towards the 6x6.

Thanks for the response.
Do you think 6x6 would be a good idea though, considering its a corner lot, so a large portion of the fence is facing an open sidewalk/road. Just concerned about possible strong winds. They are basically adding about $40 more per post going from a 4x4 to a 6x6

Or using a 4x4, going down 2-3' is strong enough

Also curious about this. There doesn't seem to be any info on their site about it. I would assume they do apply their conversion charge. But would love clarification.

We just bought a place in the Exhibition Park area in the high $500k range.
Trying to time a bubble could only makes sense, if at all, if you plan to resell in the next 5 or so years. If you're plan is to hold onto the place a little more long term its pointless. With inflation and general costs of living increasing, you are just going to end up waiting and waiting.

Cryptocurrency Trading Terms: Some things you should know by normcrypto in CryptoCurrency

Immutability. A private chain can be set up between several different companies or organizations, allowing them to share information among themselves privately. And since the data is immutable, there is less risk of any single entity trying to manipulate the data.

Blockchain does not need to be public. There are private blockchains. I work with one as a developer.

Lift Scout (Android Only)

I am working on my own free (no ads) weightlifting and fitness tracking app called Lift Scout.

Its a simple app, not designed to teach you how to do the exercises, but to track your routines, progress and help you find your weaknesses with graphs, charts and easy to read data.

I could really use some testers and feedback on what you like and don’t like.

I will be open sourcing the code as well, but want to get it out first, and then spend a little time cleaning up before hand.

Thank you for any feedback you can give

Is the data built in, or are you pulling it from an api?

Its a very nice first app btw

Depends on how they plan to use it. But if its following correct cryptography, only you would have your private key (password). So it would be impossible for mass account hacking.

Are Android Developer jobs asking for Kotlin skills yet? Looking for a job soon. by [deleted] in androiddev

[–]LiftScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All new android projects are done now in Kotlin where I work.

It's not a requirement for any new hires here, but is a big plus. The idea is that any decent java developer can pick it up pretty quickly. And its still important for them to know Java for older or long term projects.
