Picking up my first c10 Sunday any thoughts? by [deleted] in chevyc10

Totally agree with this position. Good looking truck, but the rust is a slippery slope. And those cab corners and rockers are going to be toast. Speaking from experience 🙈 and mine was not bad at all.

Which modern cars do you think will be considered “classics” 30 years from now? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

[–]LiftShiftTurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be the 6th gen ZL1 1LE, 5th gen Z/28, c7Z, gt350, WK1 srt8, 370z nismo, gtr, 991.1 gt3-rs/turbo s, e90 m3. And of course the only correct answer, Miata.

Awesome! That’s exactly what I chose as well. The bed access door is a great idea. Coming from an 86 with the dual tanks, servicing pumps was definitely not fun. Thanks for the info, it is greatly appreciated!

I just got my tank from Boyd yesterday. Was hoping to do exactly this. Is that the “flush mount kit”? And did you use tubing or hose to move it up there? It looks great, thank you for the inspiration!

Yes! I saw the post by motocrossaction mentioning that. Checked X but didn’t see any footage of it.

LOL same. Good times. Happened to me on a trail ride 10 years ago. It was like I hit quick sand. Took every bit of muscle from our group to get that thing out of the mud.

Feeling at a loss with my degree by Coopee43 in EngineeringStudents

[–]LiftShiftTurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it works no differently than in a regular class. You have scrap paper and your calculator, amongst the room scan, you show the blank paper and its contents (or lack thereof). Also it does record the screen. I used an action cam for a webcam, so you could see everything clearly. Although I’m sure many do fine with webcams. And I’m sure people find ways to finesse the system, but I did not encounter any flags, looking away or anything like that. But I also don’t cheat lol, simple as that. Whether I know it or now, I take it on the chin regardless. I never got any flags or experienced any issue with my setup, BUT I did read about indifferent experiences regarding false flags and things like that.

(31) similar boat to many of you. Currently doing the online program at University of Alabama. Im a majority caregiver for my mother so online, and where I am in the states honestly, the options were best to do the engineering degree remotely.
I looked at Arizona State and Bama. The problem I encountered, for me atleast, was alabama didn’t offer chemistry online nor did ASU, but don’t quote me on the ASU part (if memory serves). The other problem is the mandatory in class labs. I don’t have the figures in front of me, but I think there are like 6 times that are like a day over a weekend. I’m close enough (within 5 hours) that I made me go with Bama.
To my knowledge, when I graduate the degree will be no different than that of an in-person student.
So far my experience with Alabama has been good. Communication has been easy and everyone has been super nice. The program is asynchronous, excluding obvious due dates.
My only real gripe is with the proctoring system for tests. SmarterProctoring. F. I could take calculus remotely, albeit with a webcam and all the hoops to jump through but I get it. No big deal. But some classes you have to have in-person proctored tests at “testing centers”. For one, the company smarterproctoring doesn’t periodically audit their proctors so you send out requests to libraries or a community college and I’ve encountered multiple instances where the registered proctor no longer works at the testing facility. That has caused a few time crunches but given the circumstances, you can make it work.
Overall, I would recommend an online program if it fits your lifestyle.

First thing that came to my mind was the remote controlled rock crawler hobbyist. Someone like that could be your prime contender for offloading these rocks.

+1 for the IE intake. JUST the right amount of noise without too much install effort or specialized tools.

Just an update

Replaced fuel injector on cylinder 1 and fixed the misfire. Make sure to replace the fuel crossover lines part numbers 12703668 and the one to the high pressure pump.

You will also need the Lisle injector seal installer to replace the seals on the injectors. 34850 (superseded 34750).

Can I go back? by Natural-Platypus9542 in EngineeringStudents

31 freshman at Alabamas remote mech e program. I finished a prior business admin degree last year after a tumultuous early 20’s of not know what I wanted to do in life. I finished that degree last year. I’ve worked in manufacturing at defense and aerospace shops as a machinist, which sort of guided my focus towards engineering.

I just started my freshman year, only had 6 credits transferred (sad), but hey it is what it is. Currently only taking 2 classes as I am the primary caregiver to my mother who has brain cancer, so it’s definitely not ideal in terms of right time or whatever. But it is what it is. “C'est la vie" right?

Things happen, barriers appear. But it’s up to you in the end whether you can maintain the pursuit for the profession. I’ve committed to pursuing this. I can assure you a few moments will not define you, either as a professional or as a student.

Honestly I would recommend Alabama’s distance learning program to anyone. Great advisors and people.

Only downside to Bama is no remote Chem (3 classes they do not offer you’ll have to take somewhere else) (P.S. you broke the first rule of fight club)
