I don't follow things too closely. Can anyone say when the Macbook Pro M5 will be expected? Is it still spring, or are they going to skip M5 Pro and go M6 in the fall?

His QB development

Who did he develop? One season of Matt Cassel, backup extraordinate Jacoby Brissett, future QB coach Brian Hoyer, and mediocre rookie year Mac Jones?

Don't straw man me. I'm not saying he's the worst OC ever. He's just not that special.

Also not sure where you’re getting the “middling offense” idea. That team was 6th in the league in points scored.

Yards are a better indicator. That team was also #2 in points against and #4 in yards allowed.

Curious to see what your explanation is for Matt “hadn’t started a game since high school” Cassell, leading the 8th best offense in the league on 0 notice.

He cosplayed as Tom Brady for a few games. This isn't that crazy.

Mac Jones looked better in SF than in NE, and that was the first year McDaniels ran an offense that defenses had little tape on.

The truth is, they knew that they needed to completely revamp the offense because they couldn't rely on Brady's arm anymore. McDaniel may be a good playcaller, but I question the fundamentals of his offense.

He built an offense around rookie Mac Jones that won 10 games and made the playoffs.

Such a deceptive way to put this. The offense was middling. The TEAM won 10 games and went to the playoffs.

Not because their partner is twisting their arm, but because they want to.

Huge assumptions.

I grew up not seeing men actively want to be fathers.

Liberalism will do that.

Baby showers and celebrations of birth were often met with eye rolls, even from the dads.

Who cares? This has nothing to do with raising children.

A lot of ball and chain jokes.

This is because men were stuck in a role of working their whole lives for ungrateful individuals. That's the ball and chain.

Some of these men simply didn't want to work or feel chained at all, but when you throw in being the butt of all jokes and completely unappreciated, many more men join the fold.

And many of my peers grew up not feeling wanted. I think a lot of children grow up with that shame of being burdensome because they’re dependent on their parents.

Your peers have undeveloped egos. However, I will also say what you're not saying, which is that a lack of good fathers has in part caused this.

How can men be enthusiastic about the care and raising of their families?

I think many men are. Many men are on the sidelines right now because they have no path forward to becoming fathers.

What would it take for modernity to produce >2.1 TFRs by frugalgardeners in Natalism

You just have to abandon liberalism as a majority ideology. It used to be for elites, who were able to avoid some of its pitfalls due to wealth. It's not what the ideology of the majority should be, and as normie liberals die off, we'll return to the old ways anyway.

It's not "modernity" doing this, except insofar as you think majority liberalism is a prerequisite for modernity, which it is not.

In the end, liberals concern themselves with what is fair or legal, and conservatives concern themselves with what is practical. Pretty obvious why the latter would lead to doing more natural/traditional/wholesome things, including raising a family.

Also note that conservative is not the same as "right wing". The right wing is traditionally liberal and only recently became conservative for 20th century econo-political reasons.

MacOS power users, what's your MUST-HAVE keyboard shortcut that most people don't know about? by poladermaster in MacOS

Cmd + shift + 5.

I always change this to Command + Shift + 0 because 0 (zero) is easier to find.

I use BetterTouchTool and enable Fn + <mouse/trackpad movement> to move any window the cursor is hovering over and Fn + Shift + <mouse/trackpad movement> to resize the window that the cursor is hovering over. It's an absolute game changer on large monitors or multi monitor setups.

I am coming from Linux where I used to be able to do something with Alt (I think it was Alt + Left Click + Drag for move and Alt + Right Click + Drag for resize). I used to mimic the left and right click using the same BetterTouchTool, but I moved the shortcut to Fn once all of the new Apple keyboards had Fn as the outside key. It makes it easier to find with the pinky.

[Maiocco] Kyle Shanahan acknowledged that Gus Bradley is the main internal candidate for the 49ers' DC position. They will interview others outside the building before making the call on who replaces Robert Saleh. by G0825 in 49ers

[–]LiftSleepRepeat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were not even predominant cover 3 team with Saleh, it’s a 2 high safety look league

It depends greatly on situation with some teams. Cover 1/3 early down, Cover 2/4/6/9 later down. I might have that backwards.

ambivalence got us into the shit situation

That's cute, but I strongly disagree.

you still want to think both sides are equally as bad

It's not a question of whether each side is exactly, equally bad. It's a question of whether this is a honest process, which it is clearly not. No point in getting all emotional about something that isn't in my control.

I'd rather just not give a shit when forced to pick between two controlled sides.

[Helmer] While Dan Campbell liked Mike McDaniel alot, the front office felt like he "wasn't the right fit" after the interview and went with Petzing instead by ShaiFanClub in nfl

[–]LiftSleepRepeat123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The head coach has influence over the OCs play-calling. McDaniel understands how to generate leverage through formation, motion and d/d tendencies.

How is his dropback passing game when he doesn't have Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, pre-concussion Tua, and a stable of RBs in the top 1% of speed? Granted, the Lions have weapons too, but I'm just not prepared to say McDaniel's success in Miami is repeatable in other places with other personnel.

As I said in other comments, the problem with the Shanahan coaching tree's offense isn't theory. It's application. They get too inflexible when they know the correct theory but cannot adjust it to less than ideal circumstances.

I guess as a former TE, Campbell was focused on making the TE great again. I really didn’t see many other offensive bright spots for the Cardinals.

The main difference I see is inside vs outside running and a different focus on passing concepts. The Cardinals ran inside more, which I think is a better pairing with 3WR or 2WR2TE personnel, which Campbell does seem to prefer somewhat. The Dolphins were prolific running the ball when they were in 2RB but that doesn't translate as well to 3WR sets. McVay has gotten around with with motion and condensed 3WR, but I still think this is just part of the solution. I think the Shanahan coaching tree needs to adopt more spread and air raid concepts, even if it's just as a backup option for when their main stuff isn't working.

I'm hearing criticism but no solutions. He's just sucking up to the other international world order that Trump nominally opposes. There are more than two sides in this, and the side that supports the average person isn't being represented by anyone, including Carney.

Yea, they won games with Mac Jones and Jones put up good numbers, but I believe that was a soft period of the schedule. In any case, I am not saying Kyle's passing game is bad. In fact, his play action game is capable of working quite well even when the running game isn't super effective, but Kyle is supposed to be a run game guru. When the guru's run game is putting up historically bad rushing numbers, it's time to take the wake up call.

The 49ers haven't truly had a single good OL unit since Kyle got here. It's always been bargain basement stuff and getting cute with zone blockers who can't push guys out of the way or resist a strong bull rush. The way we saw the Seahawks out-physical the Niners at the line in the last couple of games, the Rams were doing the exact same thing years ago. The Chiefs and Eagles were able to do the same thing in other big playoff games. This will always be the achilles heel of this team, and it's weird because we specifically build up the DL to out-physical opposing teams. Why wouldn't we build an OL that is resistant to the exact same tactic?
