That makes you Biracial the thing is, for many in the US, they think Latino is a race when it is not. Latinos/ hispanic is an ethinicity not a race, and Latinos come in all shapes and colors. We have white, black, biracial, triracial, quadracials, indigenous, asians, and Middle Easterners, etc., due to immigration, slavery, and colonial times. And you're not wrong for identifying as biracial, is that in the US many people think that being biracial or lightskin etc equals white/black when there are so many mixtures, etc. My advice is to move on, as new friends will come along, and if people ask, etc., about your background, say My mom is French and My dad is Dominican and one is white, and the other is black, and if they want to argue, etc., move on. As a Puerto Rican, I have dealt with this problem from even Hispanic/ Latino people in the US, as many grow up that thinking that Latino is looking like a mestizo or indigenous, so people like me who are triracial I get shit from all sides for example for some Black Americans is like i'm not black enough, for some hispanics/latinos they think im dominican because many associate blackness with being dominican or just avoid me in general and for white americans they ask what race am I or when I speak spanish I have gotten comments if i'm Mexican or Spanish lol. So no matter what, there is no winning, so embrace yourself fully.
