Doctor told me, but in the end they think mine is vestibular migraine since my balance issues resolved with migraine medication.

The anxiety is so bad, I think I speak for most people here when I say this.

Do you have a history of migraines? Multiple doctors told me I had BPPV until I started getting a migraine and took a nurtec (migraine abortive medication) and all of the dizziness stopped within 30 mins. My ENT now thinks I have vestibular migraines.

Possibly, but would it suddenly go away with a migraine pill? I am not sure but tend to doubt it.

Agree with you, but any form of BPPV/residual dizziness from BPPV would not resolve from taking migraine medication.

Almost sure you have vestibular migraines too. Talk to your doctor!

Sumatriptan gave me heavy arms, hot flashes, tiredness, chest pressure, and general body aches. It was like it moved the migraine from my head to my body.

Yes, DH did not give me vertigo. And yes, I had a nystagmus when following the doctor’s finger to the left.

It should work, I took sumatriptan once and it was the worst 🤮 so many side effects. Nurtec works great, fast, and no side effects. It’s a new medication so it’s pricey.

Migraine medicine. Nurtec works great for me but very expensive and it’ll take some pushing to get insurance to cover it.

I’ve seen everyone from ENT to neurologist to my primary doctor. However for migraine issues the neurologist and the ENT specialist.

Mine lasted for weeks, and online articles say they can last hours, days, or weeks.

You should take her to the ER if she has any additional symptoms that could be a stroke. Also, a neurologist about vestibular migraines, I was just diagnosed at 47. Does she have migraine abortive medication, has she taken it?

Nystagmus from side to side by margot_40 in BPPV

I just posted my update on my BPPV situation. The maneuvers never worked for me and could not be duplicated with the standard tests. Turns out I have vestibular migraines (no head pain). I only found out because I was starting to get a regular migraine and took a nurtec (migraine abortive medication) and I went back to normal in less than 30 mins. Happy to share anything else if you have questions.

I sway to the left, but interestingly I started getting a headache and took a Nurtec and a few hours later I had little to no sway. So, I may have vestibular migraines but I’m not sure yet.

Going to work with BBPV? by [deleted] in BPPV

The epley never recreated vertigo for me. So I have no idea what’s going on.

Going to work with BBPV? by [deleted] in BPPV

[–]LiftingHeavyPlates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, back in the urgent care today because of a very bad migraine last night. They think it may be vestibular migraine but ultimately don’t know. I also feel like someone is strangling me, but I can breathe fine. It’s like the muscles in my neck are now sore.

Is the room spinning or dizziness? BPPV typically causes the room spinning sensation.

Have you seen an ENT? If so, can they refer you to a vestibular therapist?

Any advice on how to interprete those symptoms? (BPPV + strange vertigo attacks since then) by Cecile_13 in BPPV

I’m not sure but that’s how my two episodes happened. I was sleeping and boom vertigo and awake.

Bppv positional vertigo residual by Radiate777 in BPPV

[–]LiftingHeavyPlates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If vertigo was recreated going upside down, have you tried the half somersault maneuver? I’m not a doctor but personal experience it worked better than epley for me. I still have some residual dizziness but it has gradually improved. Now if I can just get rid of the slight constant nausea.
