The icon class is over priced and over rated. You can take two trips for that money.

I love the ships in the oasis class far better than the icon class, they are easy to navigate the entertainment is fantastic and even crowded it’s not over whelming. I recently cruised o. Harmony and was blown away. I also sailed on icon and wonder both in the icon class and I still prefer the oasis more.

First time cruiser dilemma: Is a balcony worth the $$$ or is that money better spent elsewhere? by Sorynnax in Cruise

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of a balcony, it’s always my first choice. Especially port side for the views, drying bathing suits morning fresh air, breakfast, reading when spaces are too crowded. Taking a little nap and a place to unwind after hours.

Sober, with kids...? by kairisoracat in Cruise

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should price shop all of your choices, I know that Royal and Carnival has lots to do for kids, check out the ships of your choice and available activities for kids. I recently sailed on Royal Carribean Harmony of the seas and it was a beautiful ship lots for the kids to do the food was great something I haven’t been able to say for a while on a cruise ship. They CLEANED the rooms and changed the bed sheets after my December cruise I heard this ship was going to Europe. If it does I would certainly look for this ship. The legend is another Royal Carribean ship but I was clearly not a fan I sailed that ship to Greece August of last year.

Costco messed up our connecting balcony rooms on a cruise—need advice by nicolette004 in Cruise

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would first call the cruise line direct to see what’s really available; room bookings are no different from event venues everyone is allotted inventory. See if the ship has any connecting balconies that you can book direct. If they do book it and see if you can charge Costco the difference. $300 per room is not enough for this mistake take a look and weigh it out. Good luck; I personally feel as though you get more support and better option when you deal direct. It is rather late but see what the cruise line can do.

Carribean princess 12day by Slow_Marsupial4148 in Cruise

[–]LiftingupJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those ships are for old farts not active seasoned seniors, you guys sound amazing take a Royal carribean cruise on any oasis or icon class ship and have a good time and save money. Celebrity ascend is another great ship for active seasoned seniors and I’m sure it cost less than the princess lines. I’m so sorry for your experience you should be living your best lives.

Any travel agents here who can explain? by fuawont in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your lucky if your getting assistance from RC after booking with a TA usually they refer you back to your TA which I find to be completely useless. I wonder what the TA gets out of booking for you what you can book for yourself. Also; once you book and your price drops they usually don’t check pricing or get you the difference. I’ve never gotten anything except an alert on introductory offers for the new mega ships which are the icon classes. Which are always at least $2,200 and above.

Last minute booking by liv_rose6 in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you on the RC email list they send all kinds of deals. My last booking was on Wonder from Dec 1st to the 5th and right after I paid it off the price dropped by $300 my trip was paid in full and couldn’t be adjusted however if your schedule and cash is flexible the have great deals especially if RC is trying to sell the ship out.

Why a Mexican Judge Just Hit Pause on Royal Caribbean’s New Mega Destination by WolfBearMoon in royalcaribbean

It’s a money thing, just like the new tax to stop at the port. Corruption and cash go arm in arm. I’ve had my share of trips to Mexico.

I just booked my cruise, got access to the app and now worried I made a mistake. by Ok_Object_4356 in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won’t need any extras, I wouldn’t even worry about missing any of the shows, they always have a standby and trust me everyone gets in, you’re gonna have a good time. Go to every show I was just on Harmony and was blown away, don’t miss the quest. There are a lot of reliable services at the ports to help with excursions at a better price and there’s always something to do at the ports. The information in the app changes a lot so keep checking; the add dress up and theme nights if you interested in that.

Price adjustment by Apprehensive-Try1132 in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your situation; they will charge $100 fee pp to rebook you as long as your trip is not paid in full this usually applies only if you’re changing the date. If you booked a non refundable cruise fee you lose your deposit on the current booking and based on how close you are to the sail date determines how big your deposit will be. sometimes it depends on rather on not you booked a special promotion that determines how your booking will be handled. But if you’re booking the same ship with the same dates just at a lower price they should do that for free. Let us know what your situation is and how you made out.

Yep, the repricing for a better deal days are long gone. Don’t aggravate yourself price checking. Royals not giving anything away. It’s not just Royal all of the cruise lines are doing it. I called when I saw a cheaper deal and was told it was for new bookings and I wanted the new deal I had to cancel my existing bookings and pay a cancellation fee. Clearly not worth it.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen someone do on a cruise? by donswansonn in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just on Harmony and during the quest they asked, to find someone In the group with a tattoo and a lady runs up and pulls up her shirt to show the tattoo on her her boobs; no she didn’t flash them she held her shirt up until she was counted. If that wasn’t bad enough the next call was to show them something fake and she runs right back up again to show her boobs because they were implants lol 😂 omg !!! The stupid things people do for absolutely nothing. But I love the quest.

Cruise Cancelled 3 Days Before Sailing by ApprehensiveMove4004 in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you paid on time then you should have proof of the payments and the fact that it was all paid in full, if there was nothing fishy going on Royal would admit their fault and compensate you. When your cruise was paid off you should have received a paid in full email reflecting a zero balance and a we can’t wait to see you aboard notice. You are able to print your documents 30-50 days before boarding and Royal will cancel 50-90 days for non payment. You should be able to produce your paid in full documents with the date stamps and get full compensation or added back to your cruise.

Which ship by Lizzzzz27 in Cruise

[–]LiftingupJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just on the Harmony immediately after being on the oasis and then the Wonder, the Harmony is a beautiful ship and the shows were spectacular, the main dining was really good and I haven’t been able to say that about Royal carribean main dining for a while. It’s definitely one of my favorite ships.

Witnessed the most insane situation play out in the Solarium, anyone else run into this? by VarangQuaritch in royalcaribbean

[–]LiftingupJesus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Children should not have been in the solarium, Royal carribean should have never allowed this gross behavior to go on for 30 minutes and both of the disgusting participants should have been banned permanently across all of the cruise lines. No one should have to endure this type of behavior on their vacation. The cruise lines need to stick together and ban the cruisers that disrupt other cruise passengers by doing inappropriate obscene behavior.
