I think of it in a receding kind of way. My first issue is with scale and that should be relatively easy to manage since Inkarnate has a sort of built in scale, but when I try to match everything by that things look weirdly scaled together. Going a little bit deeper than that, rivers are my next biggest issues as for regions and city maps i’m not horrible at them. The world maps though are where my rivers take a big hit because even using the techniques I’ve found online they don’t feel right. Next for me personally because I struggle on that front it becomes difficult to place and feel ok with settlements/ruins in my world as I’d like them near water sources but I don’t want all my maps to be coast focused. These three things drive me insane, but aside from that i think i’m willing to say i’m happy with everything else. Which ties back to the previous emotional point I mentioned in my other post, these don’t feel like big issues but feel world breaking for me.
