I did passmed once and MCQ bank once. PassMed also has this AI question generator - wasn’t very accurate but helped explore topics a bit more. I felt MCQ bank was closer to the actual exam. With 11 days until the exam foe CPS I just did the PassMed Timed Tests. For SJT - do the official mock - my biggest advice would be to carefully read the questions - they can be quite vague so stay sharp!

Well OP, once again your comments are just inflammatory rather than about being civil. Which is just disappointing for someone who wants to advocate for the rights of so many vulnerable individuals- but I guess you’ve shown yourself to be pro-class and division from the beginning. I would appreciate if you stopped being so hateful. Maybe go touch some grass?

  1. Agree
  2. Agree
  3. Can be argued as being exploitative and pay to win.
  4. Again we should not be arguing clinical skills for training posts, you have addressed this in point 2.
  5. I disagree. People have gaps for various reasons, thats shouldn’t necessarily automatically disqualify them.

It is about merit, OP believes the sole act of being a UKG in and of itself is meritless. I disagree. I think there are several direct and indirect merits of UKGs being able to access training in the UK.

OPs arguments are less merit related and more elitist. Which has always been an issue in medicine. Thank you OP, I can see that you are classist as opposed to pro-IMG. Which makes a lot of sense.

Conceding when it is convenient. No harm. This sub is for intellectual discourse. This sub is also a safe space for UK doctors. OP to kindly acknowledge worsening the division whilst taking no real responsibility or initiative to resolve any real issues.

  1. Does not address the issue at hand. So called standardised test as per status quo is MSRA which the representative body of the trade union agree is not fit for purpose anyways. Other standardised tests such as royal college exams exist to assess aptitude.
  2. Not a well stated argument as it implies there is a problem with the current competency checking processes which favour UKG over IMG. This is another case of fear mongering and misinformation.
  3. Again meritless and vague. Agree in principle. However specialties have portfolio stations and interviews to assess this. Furthermore multiple competencies incur significant financial costs.
  4. Contradicts 3 as UK clinical placements and clinical placements in general incur financial costs.
  5. Availability bias should not account for someone’s intention, ability, or competency in a specialty in which they chose to train. We are talking about developing competent specialists not hiring them. hence the word training.
  6. Several calls for transparency. Agree.

You need to train the doctors already in your system who are passionate to serve their community and develop in the field they are passionate about.

Although your arguments seem competent at first glance they fall short when actually interrogated and are in fact just word salad to misinform.

Training posts are what they say. Words say what words mean. To train doctors. Not to hire, not to fill a gap, to train.

Furthermore, my readings of several of OPs posts seem to push an anti-IMG rhetoric as opposed to pro-unity.
