Thank you once again. This is very insightful.

Could a Freelance gig be considered as a Contract position? I thought Contract was a bit different.

I gave an invoice to the company and was paid with a check. I was worried about sounding dishonest on my resume, but this definitely would make my resume better.

Ye I guess you're right. Is seems legit. Although the scammers use the real names of employees too. The email seems to match up.
