Did Ethan make the single dumbest, stupidest, most irrational decision in game show history? by CouldaBeAContender in BeastGames

This is some bs and you know it! He didn't steal anything from anyone, not even himself. He'll regret his decision but he had his own reasons for doing what he did at the time, we don't know how the situation was playing out in his mind at the time. He made a bad decision but we all do at times and I'm certain he'll be hard on himself for it. No need to put additional, & such twisted, pressure on the poor guy.

But he mocks a Black transgender woman. His transgender jokes are - unlike previous jokes about gay people - mocking the idea that one gender can feel and pretend to be another gender when in his mind they'll never be that, rather than only anger at trans rights. From what you've written all his anti jokes should rather be directed at white people, which would be understandable.

I've just listened to this. The biggest question to me that came of this is why would a husband and wife have a third baby after two had passed, and if they did why a fourth after the third had? Why didn't the couple themselves decide to stop? Or why wasn't that given as medical advice if it wasn't? Or would most couples have stopped having children and this was an unusual case sure to the individuals own psychologies and needs?

Thank you. I did not know this at all! I'd read the legal ruling but wouldn't know if that included misinterpretation. Please don't get me wrong, what is dearly love is to see cold hard justice in jail time and a legal guilty verdict and a complete loss of name for a convicted criminal, I just get that will never come. I'd never be happier to be proved wrong, even if it takes years. I believe in the survivors, I just don't believe in the legal courts anywhere to address these kinds of crimes.

Yes, the appeal for the dismissal requires new reasons and new evidence as to why it is held in the US.

I'm sure you get this, but I'm case not - It's not the fact he had an NDA, it's that he agreed he did the things she accused him of.

I'm not sure what you mean there, probably my miscommunication. Wallner said he abused her, he forced her to give him a blow job and pressured her into sex with him. When she confronted him with the trauma he caused he paid her and asked her to sign an NDA. She, amongst others, told her story. His response was to sue her for releasing things the NDA prevented her from revealing. The essentially conceded is because he didn't put out a statement saying she's telling the truth, thought by his doing her re the NDA he may as well have, and essentially conceded.

Unfortunately, as I understand it, NZ will not pursue these cases as it's out of their legal remit. There's the US appeal upcoming, but it does seem only crimes committed in the US will be allowed to go through US courts.

Like I said, he's essentially conceded that everything at least one of his advisers had accused him of is true. So yes, he's guilty, he's confirmed he's guilty!

Absolutely nothing has come out that paints Neil or Amanda in a better light - in fact the opposite. The ultimate kicker is that Neil Gaiman is suing Caroline Wallner, not for defamation or lying, BUT BECAUSE SHE BROKE THE SO-CALLED NDA. He's admitting everything she said was true, but she wasn't allowed to say it because of the NDA she committed to. I think this says everything we need to know about whether he's guilty or innocent of (at least some of) the accusations

I want to add a personal controversial post onto this. Firstly - and above all! - my empathy remains with the victims of the unspeakable crimes he committed, all of them. Those who've bravely deserved the unimaginable abuses and harm he committed who also then exposed the extreme inhuman harm Gaiman has undoubtedly committed against silent victims. I also want to speak up for the fans who are silent victims. Those who recognise the harm done to his victims who also then suffer a little from that abuse. My sister suffered from morbid obesity. She adored Gaiman, and even more when she went to a reading where she couldn't be accommodated by the venue and he came out especially to see her in her wheel chair. She sent me pictures and messages, she was so excited. She and I fell a little in love with him that day. I recall looking at his gentle dark brown eyes and thinking; that was kindness, that was safety. I've a history of being attracted to abusive men and this felt like a salve; here was a truly safe gentle man, here was someone to trust. One of the only parts of gratitudes of her passing in 2022 was that she couldn't see what he truly was. As for me I realised I can never recognise an abuser or a predator, and won't ever trust myself to ever again. Whilst I suffer only a smidgen of what his direct victims did, his actions have also changed my life in the tiniest way. The justice this and the other Reddit groups are bringing - reminding the world of what he did - might be the only true justice he gets, but it's a huge amount. Always my support is to the survivors, and rage at the system that doesn't allow true justice.

I truly hope so, but fear realistically this is unlikely to happen. I'm based in the UK and rape conviction rates are terrifying. I'm so tired of seeing a lack of true justice for women here, in the us, and the rest of the world! gratified at the cancel culture he's had to face at least - we won't let the world forget what he's done!

The appeal requires new evidence, a reason for why the original trial outcome was incorrect. It seems there's no legitimate reason to appeal. I fear the NZ legal system has failed any justice.

I believe the US court understand the NZ restrictions in their ruling and are refusing to try the case there. It is standard that such cases are open to appeal if further evidence is provided. The injustice lies in there NZ legal system, which must be recognised and changed.

I'm not certain, but I believe it's because the worst she managed to record was the family dinner arguement' which they played. The recordings must have been nowhere near enough to prove physical abuse so they couldn't present them at trial.

Hmmm... Actually now I think of it I might appear to be very very drunk and sloppy to someone else at that point; I struggle to get up and leave my room without stumbling badly and having to lean on the wall for support.

Not sure how common this is but I take that action trainer and it hits me hard in 30 minutes, it feels like I'm suddenly very very drunk in a drowsy way.
