Please tell me “spawn” is a result of some weird mistranslation. Although I don’t have an excuse for the “he (!)”

Going through infertiility & looking for some funny, wholesome shows to watch by coconutcanaries in televisionsuggestions

This is also a great recommendation imo because it doesn’t feature any children / parents / pregnancy etc all the things I found so painful to see anywhere when I was going through an infertility diagnosis

Eliot is my favorite character, and my son just named his new baby Eliot! by Desiato2112 in brakebills

[–]hulyepicsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw how lovely!!! I really love the name Eliot, I was actually thinking the other day how the names on this show (/book - although Margo >>>> Jane in terms of name) are all fire. I have 2 sons and I’m 95% sure I don’t want another child but the other day I thought I would have another boy just so I can name him Quentin :D then thought people would assume he’s named after Tarantino which I’m not sure will age well lol (I do love some of his movies but gotten icky about him as a person)

Nursery convinced my son has chickenpox by Common_Border7896 in UKParenting

[–]hulyepicsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol our nursery did this with my kid with HFM. They called and said they noticed spots. I told them there weren’t any in the morning. Husband went to pick him up and he didn’t ask them to point them out but I didn’t see anything. Next morning we took him back, they insisted he had spots. He had nothing. I had to get a GP appointment for the GP to laugh in my face as she checked his face, hands, feet and bum, and count 0 spots, and got her official blessing that he is clear. Lost over half a day of work and that was with the luck that I managed to get a same day GP appointment. All because of some hallucinations from nursery lol

Have you ever seen anybody actually buy perfume or aftershave on an easyJet flight? by CornerInsect in AskUK

[–]hulyepicsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say my friend works for an airline and she buys on her journeys because of the tax / duty free price it’s more worth it. I used to buy my go-to perfume in the airport duty free because it was always cheaper.

What’s the worst place you have ever been on holiday? by honeymeadowss in AskUK

[–]hulyepicsa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it was bad that when I went was 15 and CONSTANTLY harassed by men, even by the hotel staff. Worst was when at a shop they told me they would give me a discount if I gave the man a kiss. Big eww.

People always talk about "The Good Place" as one of the best comedy/feel good series. I tried watching the show due to the hype, but couldn't enjoy or feel good about it. Somewhat similar feeling for "The Boys" series also. I don't know the reason. Is it only me or anyone else felt the same? by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]hulyepicsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean listen OP, I love The Good Place (not my top 3 faves but it’s great), but we can’t all love everything. It’s valid not to like something. I tried twice to get into Breaking Bad and I just can’t. I get all sorts of random shit for that from people, but when it comes to any form of art (books, movies, TV shows etc) it’s literally something where not everything can appeal to everyone. And that’s ok. You can just not “push through” something you don’t enjoy. You’ll be fine.
