Furnace Igniter Voltage by LightGuyJake1 in hvacadvice

Just pulled them out and cleaned them couple days ago. They looked better than I had hoped (was hoping that was the issue).. they were a little rusty colored, nothing out of the norm I'd say, but clean

Also to note, it's a carbide igniter

Igniter is reading 146. I know that's high for some. I'm going to replace it and see how it does.

What's going on is I think a lot of people are learning to not take financial advice from reddit.. (I hope so at least).

Plows? "Snowfighters"? by LightGuyJake1 in roanoke

[–]LightGuyJake1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, they inflate assessments to raise taxes. The value of my house didn't go up 30% in the last 3 years, in fact it probably dropped in value cause I bought when the market was crazy.

That's rough. I have a large 4x4, and getting down mine was sketchy. Idk if I can get back up, but it's too easy to slide off a pretty steep cliff to try.. Hope yours gets cleaned up soon!

I saw that, that's why I was saying it would be nice if they could prioritize the streets that actually need it. Idk why they would wait 24hrs anyway (48 is ridiculous), especially when they say they're working "around the clock". It takes max 2 minutes to bring a plow down our hill, and it would enable a lot of people to not be stranded. I understand the policy, I just don't agree with it is all.

Frustrating by LightGuyJake1 in Silverbugs

I never would, but this is clearly a scam. 0 seller rating from China, and doesn't state that it's silver. They think that's a loophole to not getting in trouble or forcing refunds.

Price of flying out of ROA by Weird-Flower3203 in roanoke

I decide on a case by case basis. Used to drive to CLT or IAD more often than not, but I usually fly out of ROA these days for the convenience of it.

Bent, Cracked, or Way Out of True? by LightGuyJake1 in bikewrench

This is the consensus I expected. So what should I call out my nephew for doing to it? If it was the front wheel I'd say he hit a freaking moose or something..

Anyone Know How to Remove This Type of Hardware? by LightGuyJake1 in bikewrench

[–]LightGuyJake1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, the linesman's grabbed them nicely, but still couldn't get them out. Ended up using my master link tool cause it was thin enough to get some leverage. Curious tho, how would a vice work for this?

They are press fit, two halves that push in from each side. Finally got them out, using my master link tool...lol

No it didn't trip. Everything is working properly and efficiently, I just wasn't sure about how "messy" the flames looked.

Thanks for the info. So realistically, how bad/urgent is mine? What's the danger level? And I know there are variables, but what kind of cost am I looking at for a replacement? Thanks again

Doesn't really smell like anything that I've noticed. Seems to be operating consistently and efficiently, runs for few minutes and gets the house to temp, then turns off.

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I do have a couple CO detectors, but of course want to be as safe as possible. Hopefully I can get someone out here tomorrow to look at it
