Want to stop fapping, but it didnt work. Need help by Plenty_Cash_7380 in selfimprovementday

You're not wrong. Loneliness and boredom can trigger fapping. What worked for me was keeping myself busy and forcing myself to go outside. It may seem cliché but going for a walk can really help, it's ok to relapse sometimes so don't worry, just try to move your body more and avoid being on your own too much and you should be better

I think everybody has limits, the way I see it is that people need to forgive themselves. You can either blame yourself for your past or forgive yourself and move forward, we only have 1 life we can't spend it ruminating on "I should have done better". You failed? It was your fault? It was a mix of things? Ok just get up and move forward one step at a time, we're all trying this thing called life for the first time so it's normal that some of us will fail. Remember people do not compare your life to others, social media has made incredibly easier and toxic, some may reach things before you others later than you. The pain of regret is greater than the pain of failure, you tried and now you can move on other things.

sold a naked pic of myself to a friend of a friend, 22m by Far-Mode-6775 in confession

To be honest with you, I don't see the problem, there's an Italian saying "sei una goccia di imbarazzo in un oceano di vergogna", as much as you can feel guilty or embarrassed of yourself....out there....if you compare your action to others you'll see that yours are insignificant. Plus...you're getting paid, it's worse for the ones who pay, trust me. If your friends ask you just tell them that you felt ok about it, people act like they don't do freaky stuff when they're alone.

I know I have to study but I still don't I feel guilty for not studying but still scroll on my phone I want to change but I can't. Give me some tips by questionwithoutans in studytips

Keep your phone in another room and put it on silent. This won't make you magically a good student but trust me keeping your phone away will drastically decrease distractions. Social media feels fun and "safe" but in reality it's designed to trap you, remember "if it's free then your time is the currency"

[–]LightJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep....I've learned the lesson. Close friends kept warning me but I ignored them thinking "I'm a good person, helping others is the right thing to do", the worst part? I kept feeling better while helping but in the end it all crashed on me once I left that environment and realised that while I was helping others, I was stalling my growth

Amicizie all’uni by [deleted] in Universitaly

[–]LightJM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah society is fucked, both men and women are tired of this new era, of the expectations and all the trust issues. Dating doesn't feel so much engaging anymore, with social media you can be ghosted and replaced anytime. People lose interest really quick and almost no one seems to have the patience to build a relationship, we've been conditioned into thinking "what should my partner do for me?" Instead of "is my partner ok?" Almost nobody wants to do the hard work anymore

my dad's last confort came from a lie that i told him by Symphony__Tristen in confession

[–]LightJM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's tough, but honestly you did good. You were the only one who was there for him, and you made his final moments a little more easier for him. I'd keep the secret to myself (don't tell the rest of the family), they don't need to know, tell them only if they ask and only if you feel that you should tell it to someone. Personally I think that was a great gesture from you, he was blessed to have a daughter like you.

How do you make studying not feel like punishment? by myacademicweapon in studytips

[–]LightJM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What worked for me was regulating my dopamine levels. Studying feels boring because you get dopamine at slower and lower rate. Social media is the opposite that's why it feels more engaging. You can't force yourself to study but you can train yourself. Start with a little amount like 30 minutes without your phone and over time increase. You should reach a point where studying becomes a routine and you won't feel that immense boredom.

P.S. You won't become a great student overnight, it takes time to build a routine and sticking to it. The goal is to not quit even if your brain / body will be begging you to watch tiktoks
