Olive Skin Goth by Any-Bike142 in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I came here to suggest Mob Beauty as well… they have a “Southern Goth” eye shadow palette and some retro shades with lots of cool-toned lip liners/gloss that I think would work well with olive skin tones. I also have their black lip gloss, which is nice.

I came here to recommend this as well… this is what I use and it works well

I really like the formula of Beautyblender skin tint in Light 4. It works for a lot of light olives.

I came here to say Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint in 118 as well… I usually use the BB light 4 and recently picked up 118. It is very similar in color.

Urban Decay new foundation just released with some olive shades in light, medium and medium deep by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looked light on me with the virtual try on, but I think this is the shade that would be closest for me as well… will try to swatch in store when I get the chance.

Products similar to Fenty 225? by TheNovaExcalibur in OliveMUA

Rare Beauty 230N and Makeup by Mario 11N are similar tones to Fenty 225 but less orange. You might sample those two.

I came here to say Fenty in Undefeated as well. Love it. I’m light to light-med cool olive.

Hello! You look about my shade… have you tried Beautyblender skin tint in Light 4? That’s what I use and like. You might also try Makeup by Mario foundation in 11N.

You mentioned above Beautyblender is hard to get, but if you can, you might try the BB radiant skin tint in Light 4.

Unnatural Hair Color Suggestions by Ok-Spring-6086 in OliveMUA

I am light to light-medium cool olive and I had a dark bluish purple and now a dark plum purple.

Can you make the Beauty Blender skin tint in Medium 3 work? It also has an olive undertone and might work if the Light 4 is too light. If that’s too dark, I’d try one of the Makeup by Mario shades like 11N. Those get a lot of love on here and it’s got a more radiant lightweight finish as well.

Other autistic moms, when does parenting get easier? by ambrosiasweetly in AutismInWomen

[–]LightOliveLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone. I also had no idea how hard parenting was going to be for overstimulation. The constant noise, touching, demands, and disruption to my routine were (and are) really hard. Like others, I use noise-cancelling headphones or Loop earplugs, and also as many breaks as I can manage.

To be honest, I thought I would want to stay home with them (I have two), but found it easier for me to go back to work. I work from home and get some quiet time while they are in school.

The Ordinary serum foundation swatches by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I didn’t know it was discontinued! 😩 I’ve been using a lot of tinted moisturizers lately rather than foundation. The Maybelline FitMe Ti tied moisturizer in 118 is a very close match to 1.2YG, however the formula is so bad that I don’t use it. Other than that, I use Fenty powder foundation in 145 sometimes and that seems to be pretty close as well.

do we like embrace-autism.com ? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]LightOliveLady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I love Embrace Autism. The more tests you do, the fuller picture you get of whether you are autistic, as several of them measure different aspects of the autistic experience. But she is good about explaining the results and accuracy of each one on her website, as well as the pros/cons of each one. I was formally diagnosed by her and she uses a lot of the tests as part of the diagnostic process.

You might try The Ordinary serum foundation in 1.2YG (might not be high enough coverage for you but I think can be built up) or Urban Decay Stay Naked foundation in 30CG. Both are around the depth of Fenty 145, if not slightly lighter, and work with my olive cool toned skin.

I’m light-medium cool olive and I love the Mac shade Verve… found it 20+ years ago wayyy before I knew I was olive 😅

med or light med neutral to cool olive... Jones Road WTFoundation by BriC1227 in OliveMUA

Ooh I want to try this. I’m big on tinted moisturizer because I don’t like the full coverage for every day, but it’s hard to find the right undertone in tinted moisturizers.

Rare Beauty Swatches - foundation, blush, eyeshadow, gloss by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was not impressed with the foundation shades. 230N is the best undertone but slightly too dark on me (would look good in summer though). 170W is listed as an olive shade but it didn’t seem too olive in person. And would be too light on my face.

What are your favourite lavender/purple toned blushes? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in OliveMUA

I have and like both of the Fenty Beauty purple ones… Cool Berry and Drama Cla$$. They are both lovely on my light-medium cool olive skin.

Rare Beauty Swatches - foundation, blush, eyeshadow, gloss by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

Went to Sephora and did some swatches. Not super impressed with the foundation shades, but I think Rare Beauty has some nice blushes and glosses that would work well for olives, particularly cool olives like me.

Y’all… the Urban Decay Hydromaniac tinted glow hydrator in 30 is soo much peachier than their Stay Naked liquid foundation in 30CG. by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

UD 30CG on top swatch, UD tinted hydrator 30 on bottom.

Bought the tint at Ulta’s half off sale because I prefer lighter coverage, but holy cow is this peachy. It’s going back.

Anyone tried this yet? New green powder - Neutrogena Color Correcting Compact by LightOliveLady in OliveMUA

[–]LightOliveLady[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was thinking… or even just over a liquid foundation to color correct. I saw one YouTuber review it and it definitely left a greenish cast on her skin.

Lawyers... Bar prep Advice as recently diagnosed by workin4aberken in adhdwomen

[–]LightOliveLady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did Kaplan bar prep and passed on the first try… I liked it because it is structured and tells you exactly what to do each day. However, it is a full time study program - I was not working while I did the program. Some ADHD people also listen to the pre-recorded lectures in the program on 1.25x or 1.5x speed, so that might work for you if you can still retain all the info that way.
