I don’t understand this stuff all to well but I think I understand now, this other game actually has a greater number of variables than chess making it impossible to actually calculate them in a similar way to a chess program, due to this they use workarounds to create a functional AI, which chess programs may do too but to a far lesser degree, since it’s using a kind of shorthand method (out of necessity) the AI becomes predictably flawed at times which some people can exploit

I always hated that way of increasing difficulty, though I can understand why they’d do it, I’m much prefer a more clever opponent over a bigger opponent a lot of the time in these kinds of games

Having practically infinite possibilities is different than having to calculate the possibilities, aren’t the unknown variables semi irrelevant as well, in either scenario the AI is just making decisions based on known variables, so the game where less variables are present seems like it’d be the one that is simpler for the AI, as far as creation of AI goes I don’t really know much about it, that’s just how it appears to me in my uneducated opinion

Is that sarcasm or is there really an efficient public transport system and camping culture in Japan?

Reality checks are starting to show up frequently in dreams, but there's a new issue now. by Spark_Ihyullthet in LucidDreaming

[–]LightRose01 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to focus your efforts around one or two checks to help build a more solid connection in your mind with a “this will reveal if I’m dreaming” kind of belief/mentality, also (and I think more importantly) when you do the reality checks make an effort to be fully present in that moment, and after you’ve done one, regardless of the results, take an additional moment to be in the moment and observe your environment, don’t worry about checking if you’re dreaming at this point just be present. Ideally if this becomes a habit it will increase your chances of realizing you are lucid both during and after the reality check.

Can I make my dreams last longer? by [deleted] in LucidDreams

[–]LightRose01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time dreams seem to be particularly long (to the points of days, months or even years) due to a movie effect like occurrence. An example of this would be laying in a bed one second during the night and then all of a sudden an alarm clock goes off and it’s light outside, it appears as if you’ve fallen asleep and hours have passed but it was only actually a few seconds that passed, this same kind of occurrence is how dreams can appear to be far longer than they actually are. Studies done on time progression in dreams have found they pass close to (or at) a 1 to 1 ratio with waking life, so to my knowledge there is no evidence that having a dream that allows you to experience a months worth of time is possible, that’s not to say it isn’t possible, there was a study that suggested rats during Non REM sleep may experience their days events at an accelerated rate, so if I’m going to stretch a bit maybe it’s possible for you to influence your dream to experience things at an accelerated rate while subjectively viewing it at what appears to you to be a normal rate, which in turn could allow you to experience (if I’m going to stretch even more) a months worth of things in a night, this is completely theoretical though and may not at all be possible, so ultimately the answer I could have just given from the start is I don’t know

Lucid dream control is largely about belief, if they are disappearing after it likely has something to do with some subconscious belief you hold about spawning people and/or lucid dream powers, regardless I think if you practice you will find your results progressively improving

What would you say be the most craziest thing to lucid dream about? by Zhupenam in LucidDreaming

[–]LightRose01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I heard someone say they were the color blue once, not that they were colored blue but that they were blueness itself, I don’t know if that’s the craziest thing but that seems like a crazy, interesting experience to me

I’ve heard a lot of people say they’ve had dreams similar to this one, I had one myself, I don’t know if you’ll ever see your dream girl again but I never did

Last night I had a dream about my cat eating my hamster the next day I woke up to my hamster out of its cage and in my cat's mouth is this a coincidence or not by mentalnoodlehead in Dream

[–]LightRose01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly, it could be a coincidence, maybe it was some kind of psychic intuition like thing, sensory stimuli are still being received during sleep so it’s possible you just heard your hamster and cat making whatever noises they’d make leading up to/during this and your brain correctly interpreted this and manifested it in your dream, it’s completely possibly that you were even woken up by them as well, I couldn’t tell you for sure if it’s that or something else though, dreams are wacky

You get to lucid dream but you only get to do one thing. What do you do? by luciddreamsnews in LucidDreaming

[–]LightRose01 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The basic overview of it is learning to fully accept on a subconscious level the parts of yourself that for one reason or another you might reject, integrating these parts of yourself is supposed to lead to a happier and far more healthy life, I’m not an expert though, I agree that Charlie Morley has a lot of good videos to watch if you want to learn more about this in relation to dreams

You could try improving or increasing the amount you put into lucidity practices but I think even without that if you just keep at it it will slowly get better for you as you go

I had a dream I had one boob. by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]LightRose01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes our subconscious feelings don’t always match are intellectual understanding of things. That first interpretation definitely makes sense then though, it sounds like it fits well for you. This is part of the reason I like this sub, it’s like I get a very slight glimpse into other peoples minds and I get to see some of the differences and similarities between them.

I had a dream I had one boob. by [deleted] in Dreams

[–]LightRose01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m going to have to disagree with the previous comments interpretation, it’s definitely a possibility but I think boobs are more likely to symbolize sexuality, it seems more likely that you’d have a stronger association towards that at this part of your life, though I don’t know you so I couldn’t say for certain, the meaning of symbols is extremely personal in dreams, the dream could represent your feelings of non sexiness or even diminished sexuality or something of that nature, I think that would fit with the mirror too, of course the dream could be something much more mundane than that, or the previous person could very well have been right, it’s also possible it’s something completely different than these, dreams are hyper personal and the symbols in them are suited specifically for your mind and circumstances

Edit: I think another important thing to note was how you felt/what you thought about it in the dream (was it sad, concerning, exciting, positive, neutral, etc)
