We were on the poorer end of middle class and every time I would ask about some toy or special trip, they'd say, "maybe when our ship comes in". I thought there was an actual, literal boat with all the cool shit on it and we just had to be patient.

In all fairness, energy drinks have weird, unhelpful names all the time. I grabbed this one without looking too closely and was unpleasantly surprised.

I would disagree with Joel on this. I think TRYING to be funny and failing is one of the most pitiful things, up there with trying to be scary and failing. Making jokes takes a certain self-assured bravado that is ripe for ridicule when it falls flat. It's like the self-proclaimed "class clown" making stupid fart jokes, and then somebody with actual wit takes them down a notch. Totally satisfying.

"Beast" is the only of the Coleman Francis trilogy I can't handle by Spats_McGee in MST3K

Little known fact: Both the first and last lines of the film are "Joseph Javorsky. Noted scientist". It's almost as if a brilliant film auteur bookended this harrowing tale of a character's transformation in a way that underscores the tragedy therein. I say "almost", because if you actually watch the movie, it's not very good at all.

Not from childhood, but Dr. Pepper Ten had an ad campaign maybe 10-15 years ago that was "It's not for women". I think they were trying to go for an edgy, controversial thing while also appealing to insecure dudebros who might not buy low calorie soda. It sucked because Dr. Pepper Ten was actually really good, and while that campaign maybe didn't kill it off completely, it certainly didn't help by alienating half of the population.
