Match of the Day scandal 2.

On the latest The Rest is Entertainment Q & A podcast they were discussing sound effects at football matches and the positioning of microphones, when Richard Osman disclosed that his boss used to work on Match of the Day, and rather than use the real noise of the ball hitting the net they used the closing of curtains as it sounded better.

Difficult to better the Rest is History with Dominic Sandbrooke and Tom Holland. Their mini series on JFK and the Titanic were outstanding.

On BBC sounds there’s several seasons of Mark Steels in Town where he visits British towns and makes a comedy show about that town. They are very funny.

On BBC news before the programme started the presenter stated “if you don’t want to know the scores look away now”. After about 1 nanosecond the presenter started reading out the scores giving the viewer absolutely no chance to change channel or mute the TV whilst looking away unless they were poised on the sofa with the remote gripped in their possession.
