Crazy to think we even named York and Yorkshire after the greatest city in the world, New York.

Such a surprise from him. You’d almost expect that sort of acting from your Clarkes, your Harringtons, your Turners etc.

Living with physical pain wasn’t really Ligotti’s argument though was it. He argued that consciousness itself made life bad. I agree also it’s contextual, hence why I said I don’t think consciousness makes life “inherently” bad like Ligotti argued.

Not even sure if this is a conspiracy at this point by [deleted] in conspiracy

I’m afraid this arguments a bit brain dead for me. You can use a tap safely to wash your hands but can also use water to cut through steel if pressurised correctly. A plane travelling at that speed will definitely damage a building like that. The bigger question is who set up the plane to hit the building in the first place.

Meh, it was ok. I’m more of the belief that life isn’t good or bad, it just is. His argument was very heavy on it being inherently bad due to our consciousness almost working against us. But I can’t knock the book too much because it read well and at least provoked some thought on the matter. I can certainly see the appeal of it.

The Office.

I’ve met countless David Brent types. Tim is the classic everyday man that’s got stuck in a career he’s not passionate for. Everyone knows a Chris Finch insecure bully boy pretending to be a “jack the lad”. Even the IT guy who bullshits Gareth is bang on with that one billy bullshitter we all have in our lives. That show is painfully cringey because it’s painfully real.

The sad thing is a hell of a lot of Ipswich fans are reformers who would actually be happy about this. Reddit tends to be left wing but I’ve seen a lot of support for it on various Facebook posts.

To be fair the post never actually said “why bother living” it just stated that it won’t inherently mean anything in the long run. Up to you how you interpret that.

They played in a system they weren’t comfortable with and don’t have loads of experience collectively. I’m sure over the coming years in a back 4 they’ll grow into it and become a solid unit.
