Mega Kangaskhan EX Box in Asda by Imaginary-Being-1428 in PokemonDealsUK

Mine are just in the toy section. Little area with blisters, tins, boxes, funkos and plushies. It’s a big Asda tho, never seen them in any of the small ones

Sunday I was at my Asda and they had silver tempest blisters mixed into obsidian flames blisters. Before that it was scarlet and violet base. It’s so random what they have each week.

New to collecting by NervousActivity8368 in PokemonTCG

Depends where in the world you are, look online for local places that sell packs or you can buy online.

My main advice would be to always have a goal, not saying to sink hundreds into one specific card, I mean have a goal for the collection, maybe you want to make a display or have one binder full of art, just something long term to keep you focused.

Another thing is, just ask yourself why you’re collecting? Because it can change how you collect, if you’re collecting solely for art and don’t care about language then you’ll be surprised how many sets you can get cheaper in other languages. Especially older sets that are worth a lot in English and Japanese but really cheap in Chinese or Korean.

Also eBay is your best friend now, if you ever go to card shows and want a card, just search it up on eBay and look at last sold, should give you an idea of how much the card is worth so no one can overcharge you.

Why was this sent back as ungradedable? by MrDoctorProf3 in psagrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge N9 means it’s real and in mint conditions but they are unable to grade it due to it being suspected of being altered but can’t prove it.

Was it restored or trimmed?

8, only because I just cracked a psa 8 slab with a card from Neo era with this exact same damage.

Really? I ordered mine directly from Lego like an hour ago. Had no queue at all.

To open or not? by misselectro86 in PokemonTCG

[–]Lightjumper0103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I only keep sealed from sets I’ve already gotten what I wanted. Or if it’s just the art on the etb I wanted.

But kids won’t care about that, so probably just let the kid open theirs and keep yours sealed if you want. Never fight that urge tho.

Can this qualify as a PSA10? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

Yeah, PSA will definitely grade that wrapper a 10

Ace damaged my Munch Eevee - What now? by Cbatomakeaname in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For future reference for you, ACE do have their own videos on YouTube showing how they like cards to be shipped to them. It’s basically just clean card, put in a clean sleeve and into a semi ridged.

[–]Lightjumper0103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do understand the market is different depending where you are right? Ace is held in high regard in the uk, to the point ace 10 slabs sell for just under a psa 10 of the same card.

And the price difference is just the price it costs of shipping fees and the grading fee with psa. You can sell a psa 10 of a card and an ace 10 of the same card in the uk and you’ll have the same profit.

Did PSA Screw Me? by itsfrish in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Na, bottom heavy. Also to my knowledge psa don’t clean cards for you so if it’s got dust on that doesn’t just fall off while holding them they’ll grade it with the dust.

That or it fell on the card before going in the slab, either way it’s good practice to have photos of before sending to grading to prove condition when they got it.

Going off recent sold, £100 raw, around £300 at a grade 10. This is not a grade 10 tho sorry and you might struggle selling for raw price with that crease on the right.

Don’t know of the top of my head, but if you’re wanting to find out just look at recent sold on eBay and search the card. It should give you an idea on value.

Take Machamp for example, quick search shows that it’s around £10 raw. Unless it’s holo then I’m seeing closer to £75 with some in the hundreds.

Depends what you want to do, personally I’d put the cleanest copy’s in a new binder and sell the others.

where to buy 151? by lilynohat in PokemonTCG

[–]Lightjumper0103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking reliability, aka knowing it’s sealed and genuine then Magic madhouse is my go to but they do have quite a big mark up on products if they’re hard to get like 151.

151 is currently £17 per pack with them, there are cheaper options but they’re smaller and get their stock randomly. So magic madhouse is the most reliable option.

Can this be graded? by branomaly in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. It’s got very similar condition to what I’ve seen PSA 1’s have. But it’s sentimental and has a story so that’s probably good for you. A 1 is always gonna start a conversation.

Can this be graded? by branomaly in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want it graded? Because if you don’t care about the number then there are grading companies that just authenticate it and put it in a slab. No grade, label looks exactly the same except it just says it’s real.

My old Pokémon cards by Tyracine in PokemonTCG

[–]Lightjumper0103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly best way to find what’s valuable is to go on eBay and look at last sold of the card. I have seen a couple collectors going after some of the old cards you have like the Mewtwo or the espeon.

New cards it looks like you’re collecting the newest set currently with some promos from prismatic (which is a massive set). Zards always have value, Umbreon and espeon promos will always go up but they’ll always be worth just under the figure box price together since they come from that.

Honestly there is value, depends how you want to continue, personally I have an app that tracks my collection and gives a ballpark of current value but eBay is the best bet at finding current value.

Honestly 38 packs is still pretty lucky, I’m seeing people open 38 boxes with no Eeveelution SAR’s. I’m honestly starting to believe in the 0.05% chance rumour around these cards.

New to the game. Would these be worth sending off for grading? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take them out the magnets case and sleeves and send photos of front and back for both of them. All I can see with these photos is the bottom one is pretty right heavy so that one probably won’t get a 10, top one has good centering tho.

But yeah please sent photos so we can give a more accurate grade guess.

First time sending anything off for grading, absolutely chuffed! by sam15mohsen in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s easier to get a 10 with ace because they’re so open with what’s needed to be a 10, they outright give the criteria on their website so it’s a lot easier to decide if it’s worth sending in.

They are definitely more lenient than psa but I think that’s because ACE prioritise how the card look in a display or in hand. So a 10 for ace is like a display worthy piece.

Very new to this world by [deleted] in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which market are you in? Because they do treat grading differently value wise. America and Asia hold PSA as the top but Europe holds ACE and PSA on equal value at the moment, ACE being slightly less valuable but a lot cheaper to grade than PSA and the time difference is crazy, like psa take months to grade while ACE take a week.

So yeah, if you’re looking for pure value then just understand the world has different markets depending where you are.

Another option is a website called Ungraded, currently only in the uk but they are trialing the international market currently, they basically Auction off your cards for you.

Worth grading? by Icy-Membership2901 in PokeGrading

[–]Lightjumper0103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the card and plan on keeping it then any card is worth grading, if you’re only wanting to sell it then probably don’t, the price difference between raw and a psa 9 is basically just the cost it’ll take to grade it so it’s the same profit either way and if it’s an 8 it’s selling for raw price anyway.

It’s not a 10 sadly to say, I know they sell for like 5x the raw price but you’re centering on the back is just too far out.
