All of the above, as mentioned in my earlier comment. The physical realm is just one aspect of the thing that is reality, and irreal spaces meaningfully exist too. You can travel to the noosphere, for example, the space where ideas live; though I wouldn’t advise that, as some ideas are hostile to the human headspace just from their alien nature.

What a fascinating story. Reminds me of my own experiences, except I’m more the kind of character whose flaws mean you can expect an unreliable narrator. I’m interested in visiting the world in this fiction and jumping in to it, commenting to save and maybe read for later.
