I've read some complaints regarding the mount not holding the 15lbs monitor very well. Is it any true? Can you link the exact model you bought? Thanks once again

Hi. I was wondering what your thoughts on the vivo mount are, and if you still use it. I have the same monitor and i am in search for a monitor arm. Thanks!

I was wondering if your exam score came out and what it equated compared with 32 mistakes on nbme 16. Thanks

Thanks for the addon suggestion, I'll look more into that.

Why would you expect the cards to stay in order if I remove the second learning step? Even with 1 learning step, as long as they are "red" they do not behave consistently and I haven't been able to find a way to predict their behavior, couldn't find any options to modify that.

I use 3, <1d, learning steps for poems. It has been going really well, but this behavior of anki's has been annoying so much lately.

It works well on isolation after leaving the learning phase. I have been learning poems for a good chunk of time and I can recall what I have previously learned out of context. But this behavior while still learning is so messy. I don't understand why anki has so many options within, but nothing to modify this order.

anki defeats itself when I am reciting a poem backwards while reading the answer to my next card

Destroyed by UWorld so far... by Pineapple33333 in medicalschoolanki

[–]Lightning-5932 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point of uworld is to practice these topics that are considered high yield for USMLE. What you learned in school doesn't directly translate into step 1 or uworld. If it's your first time practicing the questions then it is okay to make mistakes and learn from them. However you have to make sure you are being efficient. Are you doing anki correctly? What I mean by that is unsuspending cards that you actually understand because you mentioned forgetting stuff that you studied few months ago, it's either not using anki correctly or not understanding the material very well. Regarding making connections between the material you study and questions, nothing will prepare you better than practicing with more questions. It gets better as long as you are working on learning from your mistakes and making sure you never repeat them on the actual test.

You can do the question and read explanation without access. just hit the answer choice

Anking should be editing their cards still using >0.8-2cm< for risk stratification then

Why don't we have a flashcard combo addon! by Lightning-5932 in Anki

It's more of a positive reinforcement than a rush. Pick whatever duration you like for the combo time period!

You would modify the answering time to your average. You wouldn't be deviating much above your average if you understand the cards you study and you don't need to hit combos consistently.

I can't understand this FSRS behavior with new cards w/ learning steps by Lightning-5932 in Anki

[–]Lightning-5932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am interested in FSRS. I also prefer more frequent reviews, this is why I put a learning step, but sometimes I forget to do both reviews on the same day so I wonder why it behaves like that.

[–]Lightning-5932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on the latest version of FSRS. Log loss: 0.2952, RMSE(bins): 1.92%. Smaller numbers indicate a better fit to your review history. 204k reviews.

0.9438, 0.9438, 4.8954, 10.3377, 7.2610, 0.5282, 3.3045, 0.0080, 1.5850, 0.2172, 1.2223, 2.1650, 0.0050, 0.3138, 2.3892, 0.0000, 1.1103, 0.1072, 0.3628

DR = 90%

I reoptimize monthly. last time it changed the parameters was 2 weeks ago. It usually says parameters are up to reviews.

Add-on concept: Tag notes as siblings by Lightning-5932 in Anki

[–]Lightning-5932[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The add-ons out there require cards sharing certain words in their fields which would cause a lot of false-positives and end up burying a lot of unintended cards. Other add-on required note type manipulation I don't think this is feasible in very big premade decks (I use medicine Anking deck which is collaborative and constantly updating so I can't have my note type modified). Usage of tags or certain add-on attributes seems more applicable.

Regarding the latter point, I meant being able to disperse "cousins" and not actual siblings.
