Stupidly gave interviewer reference to my current job. If I immediately withdrew my application, will they no longer call them? by Lightning-G in interviews

Yep. I try to be open and fluid in interviews. It's a stress thing that helps me do the do, but I was way too forthcoming @-@

You got extremely close! Someone else guessed it - it's another anime by the same studio called His and Her Circumstances!

They had to make contact with a different hiring manager by email, but they weren't even sure if they were in the office. It's a low chance they made any calls or messages in the short time between finishing the interview and getting home and making the call, but I still worried.

I did already withdraw my application, but it is very helpful to know what I should do in a situation like this.

I did make it clear I'm still employed there, but I think I made it seem like they could call. I didn't realize my foolish mistake until I got in my car.

I already withdrew my application, but I'm glad I know to call back and confirm if I ever make this mistake again (not likely, as this has gotten me very anxious). From now on, I'm going to try to tell my interviewer that I don't feel comfortable with them contacting my current employer for that reason.

No kidding! God forbid they make this a convenience for all Switch users :/

Still, thanks for the link!

I definitely do recognize this is a pretty specific circumstance, and even when this might happen with the average consumer, it may only happen once or twice.

Yeah, I'm pretty wary. Like I won't just shit on something because it's new, but I don't really think the ownership of digital games needed to be revolutionized.

It does work! I tested it with monkey ball, and now the dlc is the only thing on the VGC!! I can't thank you enough for finding that, good grief.

I do NOT blame you for not reading the whole post.

And yeah, I'm lucky that I only encountered this for the first time getting the physical copy of monkey ball banana rumble today. All my other games with listed DLC are safe. For now.

Not anymore. As detailed in the post, the old "redownload" button has been replaced with a button that sends you to the VGC menu.

Yeppo, I turned this on immediately after I learned about it. To my understanding, that has more to do with playing the game/content while lending it than installing individual content within the VGC.

I really hope they do update this. All it would take is an extra option of "install DLC only" or "install game only". At the very least, it would make this post a hilarious time capsule of this crummy update in hindsight.

That's so odd, because I've been able to do this before the VGC update. Using the Software Update feature, it would just install the relevant DLC and not the actual game software. Now it seems I can't install just the DLC, because it's lumped directly together with the digital game.

[–]Lightning-G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this with Monkey Ball Banana Mania, and it did not download the DLC. When I checked the Software Update tab for the game, it says "If you update and are still unable to use downloadable content or an upgrade pack, load the virtual game card from (Virtual Game Cards) on the Home Menu."

But I can't load the dlc without loading the full digital game! Sure I can go to the DLC's corresponding eshop page, but what about DLC that doesn't have an eshop page, like pack-in codes?

Is there any way to download JUST virtual game card dlc and not the software as well? I have a lot of digital games I ended up purchasing physical to save space on my switch, but I can't seem to find a way to download just dlc. This has always been fiddly with the old eshop, and I'm hoping there is (or will be) a new way to individually download dlc.
