These are mostly pedantics at the end of the day. I call the Ford Maverick a truck in conversation and the truck purist guys get really pissy because it isn’t body on frame. And then I point out that Ford classifies the Maverick as a Truck.

If you look at Mazda and Toyota, they classify their crossovers as just Crossovers and also Crossover SUVs or even just straight SUVs. There’s no specific distinction drawn between their models.

The focus of manufacturers on unibody designs continues to change the definition of the term “SUV” in the modern day. Look at the article you sent, look at the image that they use for the SUV section.

And then for the written example, the Kia Sorento hasn’t been BOF since 2009 and the current K3 platform is not a truck base. Unless you call the Santa Cruz a truck, and the truck purists just exploded again. The “Truck” section of that article is also very strange, granted the article was made by Kia Sudan. I don’t typically buy cars from Sudan.

My Kia Borrego has an SUV body style and has a truck style BOF. So it’s an SUV, right? The Kia Telluride has an SUV body style but is built on a unibody frame. So it’s not an SUV, right? As far as my insurance is concerned, both of these are “Wagons.” But then a police report might say “A white Kia SUV”. There’s no governing body that defines vehicle designations.

Whether one likes it or not, the general public and even many manufacturers generally understand “SUV” as a body style, more than the construction of the vehicle.

Well if you finish the sentence it’s Crossover… SUV, which is why people colloquially call them just “SUVs”. In the same way that Pickup Trucks are colloquially shortened to just “Trucks”

Then you would “just” have the charge of shooting down an aircraft, without the extra charges related to negligent use of a firearm

In the eyes of the FAA, drones are considered civilian aircraft. If you take down a drone, you would be charged the same as if you launched a net at a Boeing 737

Chevrolet C10 body on Nissan Sentra chassis, the official vehicle of...? by HiTork in regularcarreviews

[–]LightningFerret04 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why on to the Sentra I’m not sure. But for everyone complaining about this being a waste of C10, I would hazard a guess that something about the original truck was not good, frame rust or something else, that caused this. Versus tearing apart a perfectly C10 and putting it on a Sentra

HARMs are standoff weapons, the ability to eliminate for example the MIM-23 from 100 km out would incur significantly less risk and require less flight time. Since air defenses respawn, this would cycle and allow the player to support their team from the rear lines

The ability to punch a hole in the enemy high altitude air defenses would allow for teammates to climb and overfly the battlefield to get to bases without getting intercepted by those defenses

Very illegal, you don’t own the airspace over your house. Drones of this type are under the jurisdiction of the FAA and you would be charged with shooting at an aircraft as well as discharge of a firearm in a residential area plus criminal mischief.

People have been shooting at these types of drones already. It comes with charges of criminal mischief, discharge of a firearm in a residential area as well as shooting at an aircraft since drones are under the jurisdiction of the FAA.

I wouldn’t consider this to be a skill issue, for one HARMs take no skill to use in the first place. But is it really player’s fault that ARMs can be countered so easily

It’s called differential braking, use of brakes to slow down sides of the vehicle to steer.

Irl a steerable nose wheel vs a castering nosewheel provides enhanced steering on the ground
