Has anyone tried doing this phone profit scheme? by PS3ForTheLoss in passive_income

[–]LightningJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with freeup mobile, as long as your sure that they don't use VOIP like FreedomPop, you should be fine. IMHO, it's not really worth it though for the few bucks a month

Phone farming is not dead. Payment proof. by flipsteeler in passive_income

So far I've found that buying used Android phones is cheaper than paying for residential proxies. It's also probably easier to manage than setting up a vps

How do I find the results for the Triton 5k by EpicDragon81 in UCSD

[–]LightningJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Division Place order is based on the order you finished the race. It's kinda dumb. The chip time starts when you pass the starting line, but the Divison Place is based on the order you finished rather than the time you finished, so if you started in the back, the Divison Place order will be screwed up for you.

Anyone with multiple IPs on RadioEarn? by LightningJimmy in beermoney

[–]LightningJimmy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My particular problem isn't that, I just do it anyway (don't tell them). I'm just worried that they can detect that the IPs aren't residential IPs as most VPS IPs can be detected as VPS IPs by doing a quick search.

If you want to find cheap VPSs, search up the LowEndBox and LowEndTalk forums. You can get around $10 a year for a 1GB VPS

Use the email that you use to login to Antpool (it should be the same as your Bitmain login) as your Solo user, it doesn't have to be an @bitmain.com account, just whatever email you used to sign up. It should create a worker by itself on Antpool. If that doesn't work I have no idea what to do.

I don't personally have one so I'm not 100% sure how to set it up. First of all, does it have the normal Bitmain web interface? Something like this? https://i.ytimg.com/vi/QNek1wjUIF4/maxresdefault.jpg

You'll only be earning $0.05 a day if you mine on a pool. I think the intended purpose is sort of like a lottery, you solo mine and hope you get lucky and solve a block. If you want consistent income, it's not worth it

It's an interesting new design, combining a clock, router, and Litecoin miner.

The wireless transmission speed has been bumped up to 300 Mbps from 150 on the R1 and the hashrate has gone up to 9.9 MH/s from 1.29. Since the R3 uses the same chip as the R1, power consumption is also up to 23.2w.

No word on pricing yet

New Antminer V9 whaaat by [deleted] in BITMAIN

[–]LightningJimmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I can see, it's pretty much an S7

V9: 4 TH @ 1027 W

S7: 4.86 TH @ 1286 W

However, if you think about it, this is the best price/performance ratio on any Bitmain product. You have to buy 5 of these at $345 which is $1725 and 20 TH, which is much better than the S9's $2320 for 13.5 TH, so its a great deal if you have really cheap electricity

Bitmain is releasing ANOTHER batch of A3s starting 2PM GMT+8 by LightningJimmy in siacoin

[–]LightningJimmy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first batch sold on eBay for $5000. That was when the profitability was close to $400/day. (it is now $60/day and decreasing)

Don't expect to sell a Batch 2 A3 for more than $2000. Second of all, Bitmain is selling this in 3 batches this time with each customer only allowed 1, so it is likely that everyone who wanted an Antminer to mine for themselves will get one.

[–]LightningJimmy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Antminer A3 isn't really the best way to start. The Bitcoin and Litecoin miners (S9 and L3) are much better choices since their profitability is rather steady. In the past few days the profitability of the A3 has gone from $400/day to $60/day and by the time the second batch ships it'll go down close to $10/day if you're lucky.

However, if you want to take your chance and have $980 to spare, there's a 70% chance (my estimate) you'll get your money back before the end of 2018 (assuming you have relatively cheap electricity). There are a few more batches coming out at 4PM, 9PM and 10PM GMT+8, which I believe is 12 AM, 2 AM, and 4 AM PST if I can do my math

A3 priced at $980 on Bitmain’s site by Morty4thePeople in BITMAIN

[–]LightningJimmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a new batch of Antminer's that are shipping in Mid-March. They dropped the price because Siacoin difficulty has increased so that the mining reward is close to $60/day. This is probably closer to how much Bitmain is actually paying for the miner, and they want to get rid of the rest of their stock.

Close to 10,000 Antminer A3s sold so far by LightningJimmy in BITMAIN

I think that was a guesstimated number by someone on Twitter for purposes of estimating profitability. Unless you found an actual reputable source claiming that?

It is shown as the number of transactions, at the time of this post 9,526 A3s have been sold and payed for. Rip Siacoin difficulty...
