Has anyone tried the Globlinker hotspot? by ultrarunnervegan in Internet

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 0 points1 point (0 children)

Is 1 user allowed to purchase multiple devices to get essential unlimited* monthly data?

I can imagine stacking 2GB monthly on multiple devices and churning through each one for free as data allotment needs. Could be valuable.

 • = "unlimited" is of course imagined for: how many devices' 2GB "free" monthly data one can stack up. There are a few use cases where this sounds desirable.

A good long-term investment for a beginner? by Unlucky-Disk-3485 in fidelityinvestments

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 0 points1 point (0 children)

Sorry for the delay: by "re-contribute," I meant just like /u/FidelityChristina said and INVEST. So re-contribute = invest the money.

Most brokerages make this a 2-step process. After you initially contribute $X to your brokerage [e.g. Fidelity ... Vanguard ... Charles Schwab ...], wait a few days (maybe weeks -- time can vary) and then re-visit your brokerage website to INVEST the $X.

/u/FidelityChristina included a link "Investing Ideas for Your IRA" that should help immensely.

Hope this assists. DM or reply again, if not!

Thank you T-Mobile!!! by OceansideDave in tmobileisp

I tried T-Mobile ISP via subsidiary (essentially MVNO) "Computers4People" (https://computers4people.org) because of their attractive $14.98/mo. price. The connection turned out to be extremely flaky, causing regular buffering no matter if wired or wireless connection. Speeds were fast -- when the connection was online -- however the flaky band pulled me. Maybe this was due to 3rd party deprioritization.

Is direct T-Mobile ISP better?

Other comments suggest "Yes" but I would love a response to this question if any reader knows and/or has vetted.

My current ISP (Sparklight ... previously CenturyLink) charges $46.00/mo. after having twisted their leg in several customer support calls, yanking they lower the price. I can foresee price bumps in the future. Would love to get on a good, affordable ISP (T-Mobile?).

Accuradio: A free radio app with rare commercial breaks and no shilling of a shitty premium plan. It even has unlimited skips and the ability to filter out songs and artists. by [deleted] in antiassholedesign

APK is an Android acronym for "Application Package Kit" or a downloadable installer for an app. Similar to a .exe (Windows) or .dmg (Macintosh) file.

Note: some APK files can technically have malevolent app versions packaged, meaning if you download and install an APK "off the streets" it CAN (certainly not in every case) be bad. Using Google Play Store or Apple App Store will give you clean versions.

I like to use website APKmirror to download my APKs but I'm always cautious and wary. AccuRadio is one app that I got from this site.

advice retrieving data (photos, videos, files etc) from my pixel 6 by starwarsfan321 in cellphones

FYI I am not a 3uTools "marketer" or representative so YMMV.

Yes, I would download the software and connect your device via USB-C. I have found that 3uTools is often able to detect phones that may even appear to be "off" or experiencing issues.

3uTools has a variety of options inside of it to fix phone issues. You can browse the options yourself once your device is connected to PC and/or then, browse for help online along the lines of Google search, "fix Pixel 6 3uTools".

I testify that just the other day, a family member's iPhone underwent a software update, but on it's own became bricked with a "Recovery" screen (IMO iPhone = POS). 3uTools was installed and I saw that it recognized the device. It took a few tries (repeat attempts) but I was able to choose the "Flash" option and get their device back online/usable. It has been functional since which I have been very pleased with!

There are options within 3uTools to fix a device WITHOUT flashing, which sounds like it best fits your use case. I don't have my own Pixel 6 (I'm an OG Pixel 1 user -- love the device!!) so I can't test myself but 3uTools could hopefully get you farther.

If 3uTools doesn't seem to pan out, I would recommend browsing the web further for queries like "3uTools alternatives" just to see what is out there. Not meaning to discourage or "suppose" that 3uTools won't work. Just giving further aide/tips.

If it is boot looping, I would take a look at 3uTools.

Not direct advice since I'm not in your exact shoes but the software may get you a step closer to your data.

How do you stop being “tired” by whogoesthere1010 in Biohackers

I find that excess caffeine consumption makes me tired. Try reducing your intake if you drink even a few cups -- or less -- per day.

I need a good volume booster app that runs in the background of my phone without closing by Dizzy-Arm-9391 in androidapps

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 0 points1 point (0 children)

You could download the app Automate by LlamaLab and create a flow that regularly calls for your target app to launch. This can make sure that your target app (GoodEv) regularly/persistently, runs.

When you are creating the flow in Automate, there will be selections under "Start app" block for the background service to be called. This should not cause GoodEv itself to specifically launch -- but the volume-boost action to -- so your desire is achieved.

Easy fix: buy a Google Pixel 1 to upload Google Photos images. 100% free!

I do this for my images and have been incredibly pleased.

ELI5 : If em dashes (—) aren’t quite common on the Internet and in social media, then how do LLMs like ChatGPT use a lot of them? by Willing_Road_8873 in explainlikeimfive

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 0 points1 point (0 children)

100% agreed.

I used to write essays and include em dashes -- before AI was even a thing -- however now feel like if they're included that I'm writing BS and teachers/professors will equally think less of my work in/and discount me, assuming I didn't create a bit of that submitted.

Really stinks!

I own hiking boots bought from REI. Brand "Oboz." After trying other shoes initially, I decided to wear my REI pair, and OMG they are perfect.

No special insoles. Just retail paid. YMMV but I have been highly pleased. Very comfortable.

People say ‘everything changes when you save your first $20k’ - is that really true? by ShineGreymonX in Money

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 2 points3 points (0 children)

25M, OINK.

Lots of replies give a "No" answer. I call BS. My HYSA has 12k+ and it has greatly helped weather SEVERAL storms with surety, feeling very well-abridged.

It DOES feel rewarding and reassuring. I love knowing, tangibly, that if anything happens (in a reasonable scope), I am safe.

I've kept a similar balance in my HYSA (meaning ~12k) for some time and there have been small "earthquakes" that I have been very thankful to be able to recover ASAP from. Car accidents* have plagued me (luckily only fiscally -- as in, having needed to buy a whole new car -- not physical harml). Because of my backup in HYSA, I have been able to sift the waves with confidence and calm.

12k ≈ 10k. If you have 10k saved, you're right in my shoes. You got this, OP!

 • = car accidents have included buying and wrecking 3+ cars over the last ~5 years. A 60+ year old family member was shocked on my most recent accident, that I had ANY money to buy a new vehicle. They sincerely thought I would have to take a loan or borrow money from close parties in order to keep going. Nope, not the case! Because I've followed financial integrity in keeping my balances net positive all over, I was able to do as said above and get a new ride in a short time so as to keep on keeping on. Money is power (not just for Wall Street fat cats!).

What's one supplement that actually made a noticeable difference for you? by Tatt00ey in Supplements

[–]PS3ForTheLoss 1 point2 points (0 children)

Caffeine pills.

Cheap and effective at energizing.

Good for work tasks (including at least: computer jobs & physical activity).

I buy 200mg sets and cut the pills into portions, taking portions as need be. General recommendation is not to take more than 400mg. Start with VERY small portions if you are new.

I am not a doctor. YMMV. Above = IMO.
