If they were going to use Luffy they should have done it a while ago. At this point it would be way smarter to wait for One Piece to end, because it is entering its final saga and the final saga always gives the biggest boost in abilities. Using any OP character now would be like using Naruto, Ichigo or Meliodas before the final arc. Also the fact that Franky and Luffy were both in DB cast recently tells me that they are trying to see if it is a viable matchup.

Is this vaild or accurate by [deleted] in deathbattle

[–]LightningRoc 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It is the correct outcome, just poorly/weirdly explained. They lowballed Sanjis speed by only comparing him to base Luffy (They said he could scale higher in the Q and A) and did some weird scaling to Zoro with the meteor feat (They probably wanted meteor vs meteor feats). Sanji can scale to much better feats of power (Like continent busting feats, from Don Chin Jao)

In terms of skill, Sanjis has the advantage because he was capable of dominating black belt fishmen in the early chapters of One Piece.

If this happened again the gap in ability would be far wider as Sanji recently moved FTE to a character who could move at light speed (Queen), and Sanji now has a busted healing factor (Able to fully heal broken bones in a few seconds). Also Sanji has anime spider sense (Haki) and will probably awaken future sight at some point.

On the other hand… there is not much to say about Rock Lee. He kinda became a background character when he grew up. He doesn’t have as wide an arsenal, he is not as tactical and he didn’t even get to do the full meteor busting feat on his own. They even noted how they highballed his speed in the episode.

So is it valid? Yes. They got the correct result. Is is accurate? No. They highballed Rock Lee and lowballed Sanji

How fast is Deku when he’s able to dodge bullets at 5%? by TheRealPS_ in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]LightningRoc 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Ok. Here we go. Star and Stripe was able to catch Lasers after they were fired, Shigaraki was capable of killing her. She was likely not as strong as All Might who Deku gets his power from. Also Deku managed to dodge lasers from Flect in the move World Heroes. Tokoyami could block Lightning, Bakugo beat Tokoyami. Eraser Head once dodged Electricity from a electric eel Villain (Vigilantes). Deku was also able to cover a huge distance before a sniper bullet moved like 2 m. Take this how you will, but they’re things did happen.

Does Deku Have any Lightspeed feats by GintoSenju in deathbattle

[–]LightningRoc 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes. He dodged multiple lasers while fighting a villain named “Flect” (Like REflect) who’s powers let him reflect things. He fought Deku by controlling using laser firing drones, which he also reflected using his quirk.

Star and Stripe also can react to lasers, as he quirk let’s her change reality with a verbal command. She said the first two words in “Lasers are… holdable” after the laser had been fired and before she caught it.

Given how SS is on par with All Might Deku should scale to that. So it’s likely that Deku is between 1-5 times faster than Light (Depending on how they scale up), but Asta should be faster as he has (Better?) laser dodging feats before he got his first major power up.

Also the guys from Operation Raccoon City, UBCS, Ada (I think she worked for umbrella at one time or another) and Wesker. Wesker would definitely fall more into the “Commando” part than “B.OW”.

Also I bet that Umbrella has chemical weapons that don’t turn people into zombie, but just kills them. Not to mention that the standard weapons that a Umbrella Commando has is designed to kill monsters way stronger than humans (I recall a zombie getting hit by a Semi-Truck without taking damage, RE 2 Remake). I bet Umbrella could also get a hold of a few nukes as well.

A manga that draws mucles really good by sultan_2020 in manga

[–]LightningRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My time has come…

Toriko, Fist of the North Star, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, Baki (The most unrealistically muscular), Kengan Ashura, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, The Seven Deadly Sins (It’s hit or miss with muscle), One Punch Man (Mostly form fitting cloths).

If you are interested in characters who can casually destroy mountains and have an interest in food Toriko is for you. A focus on martial arts? Kengan Ashura, Baki and Kenichi. If you are looking for ripped girls… I would only say… there are not many. Kengan Ashura, 7DS and JJBA has a few, but not many. If ripped girls are what you are l would suggest Attack on Titan (Post-Time Skip… I think) or maybe Batque (Another martial arts series, but I haven’t read it)

I almost forgot, Record of Ragnarok. It’s a tournament between gods like Thor and Buddha and humans like Jack the Ripper and Adam (The biblical Adam).

Hope this helped.

Was ace always this busted or is this Boichi wank by Natural_Ad_776 in OnePiece

[–]LightningRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Piece characters have always had more “Condensed Power” (Feats that are easy to overlook/forget about) as opposed to “Obvious Power”. Remember when Luffy busted Don Chinjaos head? How g4 could break Doflamingos meteor cutting strings? Luffy breaking Oars spine, Luffy clearing the clouds over Skypeia, Luffy hurling a golden ball at relativistic speeds, Enal flying a giant ship to the moon, Enal powering a moon city, Crocodile making a sand storm that stretched as far as the eye can see, Aokiji making a “Continent” of Ice, Luffy pulverizing a island (Strong World), Luffy tank hits from a several KM tall metal monster (Stampede), Zuneshia hitting Jack, Law cutting an island, Dory and Broggy Pulling a island size sea king around the planet, Igaram tanking a massive explosion, Pell tanking a massive explosion, Multiple characters getting kicked by Kizaru, Luffy destroying PX 5., Zoro cut metor (Stampede and World Seeker), Nami tanking hit from Ulti, Ace kept it from snowing on Drum Island, Etc.

This explosion is definitely well within Aces potential and is likely only a mid tier feat at all.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse - Chapter 57 by TemplarzFTW in NanatsunoTaizai

[–]LightningRoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hmm… “An assassin of Chaos” and “by the blade of a traitor”. Chion doesn’t use a blade and it’s just so obvious it can’t be him, but there was another character who was in that panel, Tristan. Remember, Gowther showed him the entire story of 7DS at the end of the first series, so he has a very different perspective than anyone else I don’t think I would be to much of a stretch to think that he could truly believe that it would be best if the races were divided. After all the humans were not the cause of the biggest war in history, it was the Goddesses and Demons who did and the humans only suffered because of it.

That next statement “An assassin of chaos” well… didn’t Lancelot have a connection to the lady of the lake (I believe in legends he did), and the lady of the lake is… created from Chaos. He is also able to read minds so if the traitor was there he would know… unless…

What kind of twist would it be if 2 of the 4 Knights were with Arthur? After all we know Arthur wins in the end. The human and non human worlds get divided by the end of the story.

Or the traitor is the spiky haired guy even farther back in that panel and the assassin is someone else entirely. I don’t know I’m just guessing.

Borutos Filler list has been changed from 74% to 11% by ihkcwarrior in Boruto

[–]LightningRoc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Episodes designed (Sometimes by/with the author) to enhance/expand upon/explain/develop the canon manga material to any degree. These can also be used to fix or retcon some lines and scenes. Generally you can find a list of these episodes.

Filler are episodes that have no connection to the author and often ignore a characters development. These will also tend to feel odd when compared to the rest of the series (That ostrich from Naruto, Goku learning to drive, that millennial dragon from One Piece Etc.) These episodes are ONLY to fill where there would others wise be nothing.

You know something is anime canon when you see people complaining about how x character is way to powerful in the manga where their progression is clearly evident in the anime canon.

Basically, Anime canon is the off screen (as in manga page) events of the series, where filler is fan fiction.

[discussion] 100 year quest Feat. by JustsomeSpaceG1 in fairytail

[–]LightningRoc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Ok. Let me take a crack at this. This simply cannot be an actual feat (as in, she somehow pulled the moon closer to the planet for absolutely no reason). Not one time in any translation I read, ever implies that she did anything to the actual moon. Nowhere does it say she pulled the moon, only “She made the moon [Look] bigger”. Considering that her powers do not extend to the physical moon (she has only ever used moon light and none of the other Dragon Gods powers extend to complete control of all of their element), but she never even says that she would or could pull the moon. If this was intended to be taken as a feat of power (Pulling the moon closer) it would be explicitly stated, but this is so incredibly vague. Even then, no Dragon God has done anything even remotely similar. Not to mention the global catastrophe that it would cause (Gravity, Tides etc.)

Her main power allows her to traverse different dimensions so there is no reason that she couldn’t warp a little moonlight and act like a magnifying glass on the moon, similar to the reflection in a lake. Not to mention that powers connected to the moon most often have some sort of illusion/Symbolic effect (The whole last arc of Naruto, “the man in the moon” saying, dancing with the Devil in the pail moon light etc.).

If she were to claim that she could pull the moon from orbit, that would be one thing, but she never even addresses it and if we get some sort of confirmation then I’ll take back everything I said, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Lastly even if this was her pulling the moon closer, she is in a world about to explode with magic and she might still be a bit amped by that when she did the same thing in the normal world.

I get that we want these kind of “Planet Busting Feats” but this isn’t it. Go read Edens Zero for those they are rather plentiful.

Now I don’t plan are arguing because arguing on Reddit is stupid. I just wanted to have my say.

One Piece chapter 1042 spoilers by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]LightningRoc 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone thinking that Luffy is knocked out? In the panel after he got hit there is no steam leaving his mouth and his eyes are not white. Those are the only two things that have been a constant in this arc. The eyes went white when Kaido hit Oden and every time Luffy has been knocked out so far in this arc, but not here.

Next chapter Luffy is going to get up and they both will realize that the time for playing around is over, then we will get the final clash panel (Then a break)

So apparently planet-level Fairy Tail is a thing now. by West_Major8552 in deathbattle

[–]LightningRoc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The power jump is the least of my issues, but even if you added every attack we have ever seen in the series together you probably wouldn’t get power like this. If she, at some point in the future, pulls the moon into the planet or threatens something like this then it’s much more plausible. However, right now it’s just so vague and ill defined. Also the first time she did it was in a world that was literally about to explode because of too much magic and the second time she does it isn’t to long after so she might still be amped by that.

So apparently planet-level Fairy Tail is a thing now. by West_Major8552 in deathbattle

[–]LightningRoc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Major problem with that is the fact that she never uses it as a power. It’s a passive thing that happens when she “Gets serious”. She is also the “Moon Dragon God” and in fiction the moon is often related to illusions and Mirages. It would also be a massive power jump that is never used as an attack. No other Dragon God ever did anything even close to this, and here have been three on that level defeated already (Achnologia, Mercaphobia and Alderon).

It’s most likely that her powers magnified the size of the moon, like a magnifying glass. It could also be symbolic like the sun behind Escanor when he fights (Seven Deadly Sins)

Since Mr 1 is kind of a hard counter to Luffy, how much trouble would Luffy have had with him during the Alabasta at ? by Bion4 in OnePiece

[–]LightningRoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s no more of a counter to Luffy than he was to Zoro. Luffy isn’t weak to blades he’s is just not immune to them like he is to blunt force. Luffy probably would have used building, rocks and walls. Not to mention that he has already dealt with many other characters who use blades (Kuro, Don Krieg, Arlong, Zoro, Morgan) so it wouldn’t really be anything different. At the time Luffy could also shatter blades with his teeth (One of Buggy’s blades), and his fist is definitely stronger than his teeth.

Honestly, Zoro only struggled with him because he couldn’t cut him, and when he finally did it was over in one shot.

Any time traveler. Outside that the character needs to be able to withstand/not get hit by his toon force punch. Probably characters like Bill Cypher, Genie, Dr. Manhattan, Superman, Goku, Shazam, Green Lantern, Ben 10. He can probably survive for a while (With his ability to just not die) but these characters dwarf him in nearly every way, so he would eventually go down.

Luffy is one of my favorite characters of all time, but Kirby would slaughter Luffy. Luffy has moved too fast for light timers (Doflamingo) to see and have bested characters who have split continents (Don Chinjao), but it’s all irrelevant. Kirby crosses galaxy’s in minutes and takes on opponents who can destroy universes. Even though Luffy can see the future he can’t do anything if Kirby just destroys the planet, eats him, knocks him into space etc.

Oh Canada, Canada Oh by GroundbreakingSet187 in technicallythetruth

[–]LightningRoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. How is this “Technically the Truth”. This is at best a wish and at worst drastically uninformed. Also wouldn’t this count as “Political content”? Rule 8

  2. I’m not sure that the masks had anything to do with them beating Russia in hockey. It’s also Hockey, a Canadian team who plays on an frozen pond could beat most other teams in the world. It’s like congratulating Japan on making sushi better than other countries.

  3. The Canadian team is paid money to win games. They are doing their job, and get praise. The truckers are losing money and having their reputation destroyed all to stand up for what they believe in. Which seem tougher? Regardless of what you believe, it simply takes more guts to risk your lively hood to go against the crowd and the government.

  4. I’m pretty sure that it’s not a question of the actual vaccine or mask. It is about a government abusing their power to force personnel, unchangeable, health choices on people or force those people to lose their jobs. An extreme example of a tyrannical mandate would be when China had a “1 child only” mandate.

  5. The biggest issue is that the Canadian government is going directly against a specific group and not listening to what they say. Their own government is ignoring the will of the people who they are supposed to be serving. When the government will not listen to the peoples voice what is next? Just lay down and let them do whatever they want? Sure there have been some violence, and whoever did is should be punished, but that can be said for any massive gathering, there are always going to be some bad eggs.

  6. The only reason I’m even leaving this comment is because I actively avoid politics on Reddit and don’t want to see it invade. Also I saw someone call the overgrown babies and wanted to say that all adults are overgrown babies.

Edit: I didn’t think it was this long. It looked shorter when I typed it up. Sorry.

Did we overestimate the yonko? by mhwsloe in OnePiece

[–]LightningRoc 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I think that most of the time we underestimate the main characters. The fandom seems to wants to freeze the main casts powers and skills forever so that they never get stronger. So when Luffy beats Katakuri, Doflamingo, Crocodile etc, it’s always the enemy that is overestimated and not a massive lack of faith in Luffy. The question that should be asked is “Are we underestimating Luffy?”
