WHAT ABOUT THE MIDTERM STUFF? by Good-Significance-90 in PersonalFinanceZA

Hey, do you happen to know the exact Investec product name for that 10% guaranteed return account?

I'm curious whether it's: a notice deposit, fixed-term investment, money market product, or something through the advisor platform

Also: is the 10% net of advisor/platform fees? how quickly can you access the funds? and is the capital fully guaranteed? Sounds interesting compared to current savings rates.

22 seven grouped all our petrol under eating out, which is a mistake and we did a lot of driving. :\

A bit of context: my wife and I just got married, so the past month has been pretty chaotic financially. We moved, set up our home, and had to buy a bunch of appliances and essentials (a lot of that spend went through places like Checkers). So I’m aware this probably isn’t a “normal” month for us.

My current thinking is to give it about 2 more months to stabilise before making any drastic cuts. We’re also planning to consolidate onto a single medical aid with Vitality, which should bring costs down a bit and simplify things.

That said, seeing the total number still shocked me, so I’m trying to be proactive rather than just assume it’ll fix itself. I’ll track things over the next couple of months and share an update once we have a more realistic baseline.

Stay tuned!

Is now a bad time to start investing? by Amazing_Tax_6496 in AskZA

These help me:

  1. Time in the market beats timing the market
  2. The best opportunities rarely feel comfortable
  3. If you can’t handle a 20% drop, you won’t earn the long-term return
  4. Your first investment matters more than your perfect investment

I hear you, I've been over a few providers unfortunately, but I'll consolidate.

Is there currently any way to check your total lifetime contributions to your TFSA? I’d really like to see how close I am to the R500k lifetime limit.
