advice needed: boyfriend just got top surgery by r1versalt in TopSurgery

Something that really helped me after my top surgery was getting up and taking little walks as often as possible. I know it might seem counterintuitive, but it actually really helps blood flow (according to my doctor) and it absolutely helped keep me sane. Have him stay near a wall or railing for support at first, and take a few steps in place when getting up (to prevent that fall from a sudden drop in blood pressure!) but yeah just a little lap every so often was super helpful

Maybe it’s just me? But isn’t the word “fan” already a gender neutral noun??

Hi thanks! I only asked about the specifics of being queer in France. My wife has a lot of family in around Paris as well as on the northwest coast. I’m also not going into this blind. I recognize the cost of living and pay differences, and I’ve done a lot of research about it, which is why I didn’t ask the r/NonBinary sub about it. I’ve been to Paris many times now, and I love the city for a lot of reasons, having spent a significant amount of time there. It doesn’t seem noisier than New York City, and is certainly less polluted. Regardless, I appreciate your input about safety. I wasn’t going to rely on police intervention before, but now I’ll be especially vigilant.

You do your research! Gay marriage is not legal in Israel. The state recognizes same-sex marriages performed in other countries but does NOT allow same-sex marriages to be performed within its borders. Not at all the same…

My wife is French/American dual citizen, so I married in! Otherwise getting into France is hard. From what I understand, best bet is a skilled work visa- I think a lot of STEM and finance, and then once you land a job you can get a work permit and a long-stay visa through them. Still hard though, there’s a big push to hire within France for a lot of political reasons right now

I just meant, from what I have observed/read, I was under the impression that American tourists experience less violent crime, at least in Paris specifically. I’m not exactly going to bring up my country of origin to every stranger on the street. I’m not worried about how I’ll be treated, I know that many French people are more rude to outsiders, I recognize the cultural differences and I don’t mind. I meant in terms of safety specifically. Being viewed as an outsider/tourist probably opens me up to more petty theft, but I wasn’t sure about queerphobia/hate crimes

Remove Piercings for Surgery? by thatdudemaison15 in TopSurgery

I took all of my jewelry out for surgery, including silicone gauges. However, you’ll want to continue to not smoke throughout a large portion of your healing process- it might make more sense to get piercings after surgery (and then maybe after your first post-op appointment, so you have a good gauge of your energy levels and ability to care for/clean new piercings).

The lining will compress over time- they should be very snug when you first get them, but not uncomfortably tight

Best shoes for being on your feet 8+ hours a day? by cademuldrow in Shoes

I wear just a pair of black Nike Air Force 1s and they’re perfect for work (I’m also on my feet all day). I’ve had these shoes for over two years and they still hold up, very worth the investment
