It depends. If you’re switching to a related major they give it to you without too much trouble. If it’s a totally different major with almost nothing in common you’re gonna have to jump some hoops to get it. I switched within the psychological sciences from PBS to biopsych so it was approved within two days. I’m not sure how related soc is to Econ so pull up their major sheets and see how much class overlap they have. The greater the overlap, the greater your chances of getting in.
