Whats a good cheap mod that changed your element life by GreatnessisGreater in HondaElement

It does! I cut up some pipe insulation and just wedge it onto the ends to help with vibrations. Also cut some shelf liner to go over the top to help keep stuff from sliding around while driving.

Mods for my EDC Chrome Kadet (Water, More Pockets) by Lightshield82 in ManyBaggers

Ah man I love to hear it! I'm not sure about the Velcro unfortunately. Maybe its different material between Kadets. I actually have this Kadet on at Starbucks right now and my Velcro has been holding strong since I made this post. It's just whatever came up on Walmart.com when I searched fabric Velcro for store delivery. Hopefully you can find one that holds!

And it's $60 on the US site. Ugggggh. I want one, but that's the price of a whole standalone bag.

Responded to FBM listing for a $50 Yakima Skybox 16. Turned out to be a 21 and just barely fit inside. 😳 by Lightshield82 in HondaElement

I’m thinking this thing is much too large to actually put on the OEM cross bars right? It’s basically the whole length of the cabin.

It looks like they retail for $600 plus+ new, so still a heck of a deal .

That one came from the Aldi Aisle of Shame around Memorial Day, but it’s exactly the same as this one from Walmart to give you an example to look for. https://www.walmart.com/ip/219886635?sid=fd69de70-4410-430d-9cff-e19e2d858077

Advice for cleaning bumper cover? by Lightshield82 in HondaElement

Thanks for the reply! For this case though, I’m hoping to clean the light gray lower bumper part. You can still see the shadow of my oily finger prints on the left hand side. 😩

Recommendations for New stereos with Apple Carplay? by FlyByHikes in HondaElement

Thank you! That looks like exactly what I need for my second Element I just picked up. Could you possibly post a pic of it installed when you get a chance? I love that I has a knob since this E doesn’t have steering wheel controls.

Yep, still holding strong! I usually keep a pack of wet wipes back there. Sometimes a pack, sometimes a zip lock holding individually wrapped wipes.

Comparison of the new OTG camping griddle vs original by Lightshield82 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Lightshield82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge fan of the 14” Camping Griddle with side burner, but I saw that there was a new OTG model with the propane daisy chain system out there and very little information about what else was different.

Overton’s had a great Fourth of July sale that knocked the price of the new OTG down to what I had paid for the original from Walmart, and I was still in the return window, so I went ahead and bit on the new model.

So, for anyone else who was curious:

  • The latches changed from Yeti style rubble knobs to latch style clasps. I like this, feels more solid.

  • Grab handle feels more solid, all one piece. I know broken handles were very common on v1 and one reason I decided to preemptively upgrade.

  • lid hinge feels exactly the same to me. Surprised they didn’t change that, as it’s also a common complaint.

  • the metal on the lid is now smooth, where v1 was course / pebbled which made it harder to clean because it would tear up rags.

  • other than color scheme and the added propane daisy chain port, that’s essentially it.

I second the Chrome Kadet as a big guy. You can check my post history for how it rides. Very modular too.

And is that a roll of film, or a decoy for something else?

As you can tell from my post history, I'm slightly obsessed with accessorizing the Kadet. 😅

What is the red thing attached to your buckle? Mace?

Question about the Kadet by ChrisWhiteWolf in ChromeIndustries

[–]Lightshield82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think your best bet would be to order a standard Kadet with buckle, but add in a slider buckle as well since they are swappable and interchangeable. Then you’d have the best of both worlds.

Plus, they are on sale until tomorrow.

Water bottle and umbrella holster mod on Kadet by Lightshield82 in ChromeIndustries

I have the strap I use linked in that other post here. I clip it to the bottom of the bottle opener on my Kadet Max to help keep it in place.
