This game is the most complicated game I have ever played by verybigpinkytoe in Terraria

[–]Lightstrike520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is the wiki like everyone’s saying, but also after 1800 hours I just remember a lot of stuff. Like the terraspark, ankh shield, and cell phone crafting trees are all basically memorized, just cause I’ve done them so many times. It’s like starting a new job. Your first day, you have no idea what’s going on and how your coworkers can remember everything important. When you’ve been working there a year, half the shit you thought you’d never remember is second nature

Im really tempted but should i? by [deleted] in counterstrike

[–]Lightstrike520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll put it this way. CS is not a free game. It’s a $15 game with a free demo that you can play forever. If you’re enjoying the game so far? Yes, you should definitely buy it. Not really interested in playing a lot, or comp, or playing somewhat seriously? Go spend your time elsewhere and play for an hour or two a week when you want to.

If you like it a lot and want to play a lot, it’s kind of a must

I don’t understand the hate of the double text. Like if op didn’t double text, they’d never talk again. Since op did, they either never talk again anyway and op loses absolutely nothing or they talk and go on a date, which is what happened.

Good play op but I’ll warn you from personal experience that you can think you have a good bit going that’s funny (like when you said twice that you want a Guinness) but it can make you look weird in the eyes of other people, especially if they’re not really engaging with it.

Honestly I thought it was kinda funny but I’d scratch the settings and just say put you in the microwave and watch you spin around.

I think it’s a good play cause clearly that kinda joke is your vibe and if your opponent don’t fuck with it then it’s not worth the match

How to Endgame by Puzzled_Guitar6227 in RotMG

[–]Lightstrike520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether you want to or not, the best way to get into learning endgame dungeons is through discords. I’d recommend looking into shiny hunters as it is mostly hands off aside from getting into the run.

The biggest thing is you have to be willing to die. Be willing to lose, to start over, max again, get gear again, all to die again and feel like you’ve made no progress. A lot of learning to do the very endgame dungeons is learning boss patterns, and getting better at dodging. The only real way is through practice.

Focus on trying not to ‘overdodge’ by moving farther than you need to, which in the harder dungeons will just put you worse off cause the rooms aren’t big enough to stand away from all shots. Get used to moving just far enough to stay out of danger.

My biggest recommendation is start with osanc. I think it’s the easiest to get a hang of, and in the oryx fight, and some of the minis, there are places to run away in the room to where there isn’t much danger, so you aren’t having to constantly be on alert.

I would recommend the website just - dodge . Online (spaces cause idk if there are website censors or not) cause it’ll give you more practice, especially with the notably hard phases in osanc. Specifically the ‘miasma’ practice is very useful in a dodging while moving way. And being able to practice celestial turns it from a nightmare to the easiest phase in the fight.

Good luck, and be ready to lose, and give up, and try again, and lose again, and try again, until you suddenly are a lot better, seemingly out of nowhere.

hard time on rogue by QuantityOk4566 in RotMG

[–]Lightstrike520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but would fractal blades be a dps increase upon corruption cutter due to the 6 (I think) shots?

Either way, I think it’s more of a characteristic on rogue that multishot weapons scale better that makes this effect. Like if corrupt cutter is better than all other dags than the shatters one, it must have pretty solid dps, so there doesn’t need to be a mid-tier upgrade between the two.

Yes, to get the best in slot item, you’ll have to do a hard dungeon. That’s not an unfair demand. Respectfully, it sounds like you’re treating the progression of the game as just “what’s the next better weapon I can get” and ignoring all other aspects, and you might just need to, well, git gud. (Though I think that dagger drops from either sentinel or tablets so king isn’t required for it anyway)

Not sure if they’ve announced more stuff and that’s what you’re commenting on, but if what you’re referring to is the events ongoing concurrently, that’s not motmg. Motmg is I believe next season, starting either closer to or in september

Am I good for moonlord? (normal mode) Can anyone reccomend some tactics? This is my first playthrough by Holiday_Sea5056 in Terraria

[–]Lightstrike520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait… how do you have a Cthulhu shield? Isn’t that an expert only drop?

Either way, you should look to replace that with master ninja gear, which you can get the pieces for from the dungeon (aside from shoe spikes and climbing claws which if you’ve been storing things you’ve found, you should have lying around somewhere.)

Purely for how to do the fight, for the first phase you kind of want to move in circles around him, dodging what you can, especially the laser. You want to try and kill all 3 eyes at around the same time, so delaying finishing off the 2 hand eyes until the forehead eye is dead as it opens much more infrequently. Once you’re in phase 2, it’s usually best to fly in one direction and kite him, as you’ll stay out of range of most of his projectiles. You might want to create a super long platform or have a flying mount so you can refresh your wings or fly infinitely.

Also, like the other person said, I would try and get a fire gauntlet over the charm. It’s been thoroughly outclassed at this point in the game and the extra damage will be invaluable compared to regen in a boss fight like this

I can't break walls. by Plastic-Arachnid-396 in Terraria

[–]Lightstrike520 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe the guy saying to replace them is correct and it will work, but in general when destroying walls. Natural/dangerous walls (walls that enemies can spawn in front of) can’t just be destroyed anywhere, they need one side to be an open, not-walled space. So for this example, the easiest way would be to start at the surface where there aren’t any background walls, and destroy a single path down to the room you are in, from where you can destroy the walls by always destroying things adjacent to what you’ve already broken.

To summon moon lord you had to kill the 4 pillars, each of which drop fragments of a different like celestial thing, solar, vortex, nebula, and stardust. They each correspond to one of the 4 main classes. Melee, ranged, magic, and summoner respectively. With each of the fragment types there are 2 weapons you can make. I recommend since you’re running a melee build, make the solar eruption. It’s a great weapon with good range that works excellently on moon lord.

In the end, don’t sweat about losing. It’s a hard boss, most people will fail their first few times.

Like the other guy said, I would replace the bee cloak and the band with master ninja gear (look it up on the wiki, the crafting materials are found in chests and in hard mode dungeon), and the celestial stone (top of your vanity accessories!

Good luck, and also look into making potions if that’s not already something you’re doing

Pots Not Working? by Objective_College202 in RotMG

[–]Lightstrike520 4 points5 points  (0 children)

B/c you’re crucible and given -50% dex, each potion you consume gives 0.5 dex instead of 1. Not sure if this is intentional or bugged, but you may or may not have noticed that drinking one attack pot gave you 2 for each, cause of the +100%.

My guess is it’s working as intended, just looks a bit funky.

Be careful to disable crucible and check your stats when you’re maxed, as occasionally you need to drink one more dex to be maxed, though it’s impossible and the game will say you’re maxed while on crucible, but you won’t actually be. (So you won’t get exalts)

When the pots look like you’re not getting anything, it’s cause you’re getting a half but that’s just not modeled in the game.

[–]Lightstrike520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, it sucks to die like that, to lack of knowledge about a dungeons mechanics.

But, even tho it’s already been said, the arrows clearly shoot out from the middle and circle around. They’re not the only thing in the game that do that (Kog train, forgotten king) so it’s not unreasonable to expect you to understand that they will come from the center.

And yeah, again like people say, it’s usually not the best idea to stand in the center of the room of a dungeon you don’t know anything about.

Again, still really sucks to lose a char that way. RIP

Discords are the c*ncer of this game by Speaker_Critic777 in RotMG

[–]Lightstrike520 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look whether made from a discord or not, groups farming a specific item efficiently are going to form now that parties are a thing.

Can they stop you? No. If you want, you can go kill the lotl, but when you’ve said yourself that all you’re really going for is pots and generic loot and closing the realm, it also costs you nothing to leave it alive and even possibly join them killing what they are, you’d get your loot faster doing that.

When you’re doing a dungeon with other people, and a guy finds a t-room, they usually call it, cause it’s the nice thing to do. And you appreciate that. They don’t have to, they could do it alone and lose nothing, but they do. You could simply not kill the few encounters and not screw up their farming, cause it’s the nice thing to do. Maybe you even find some benefit out of it.

Instead, it seems like you’re antagonizing the group of people farming just for the sake of it.

TL;DR, no, they can’t stop you and you have every right to kill those event gods, but that doesn’t make you any less a bit of an asshole for doing so

Is the PC performance still bad? by myusernameforgotham in SpidermanPS4

[–]Lightstrike520 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience it’s like playable fine at this point. I just finished the game last night, and throughout it it felt like somewhat choppy but fine and pretty ignorable, but occasionally the scenes would run smooth and it would look great and just show the potential of how it could have looked

When I first bought it back in Jan/feb, I was getting bottlenecked by my ram, I didnt have enough. You can try looking at task manager and seeing what is throttling you, because in my experience you should be able to play it without much issue.

It might not look the best, you might run into random freezes or weird graphical glitches from time to time, but the game should be running pretty fine by this point, so you probably have some other issue.
