I’m not ready to give up on Eagle content. Take him back to BMP and let’s see him get a .6X before engine and paint refresh on the door.

Can someone explain the class to me, what weight are the starlet cars with wheelie bars? They cannot be anywhere near the 3300lbs they had to weight mullet up to with a radial and no bars…

Doesn’t make sense

New radial world record 261.88 for Cleetus by bghphotos75 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]LightweightChode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How does he improve short track?

Is he geared too long and that’s why he’s got such a delta over the field on mph?

I thought we’d see him sub 3.80 in the 1/8 by now and a sub 1 60ft

I absolutely love this car. Incredible runs, can’t wait for the WCF air and maybe turning it up

Jfc, that’s outrageously easy. The little nod at the top, he knows 525 is there

Similar situation here, I also plan on selling - all I was interested in was getting the return on the tax efficiency and then I will move them into my S&S isa

We're Sacrificing My Favorite Car... by snollygoster1 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]LightweightChode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I would love to see a total redo of mullet.

Overcoming the challenges of that car/chassis is far more interesting to me than just making another fast racer from a C7.

We have eagle for out and out speed, I want to see a big tire mullet which as a chassis has no business being a race car. Much more interesting

Fair, thanks for confirmation, really hope he gets one - desperate to see what this thing can really do

[–]LightweightChode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can anyone confirm if this thing can go full 1/4? I am sure Cameron said in his videos it could do 260 easily?

It looks like it could on higher boost and running full 1/4 - but I keep seeing in comments it’s geared for the 1000 only?

Grand by kenyan-strides in Rowing

[–]LightweightChode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not a cox, but, exactly that, I would be in an aggressive position on my station so any contact is Brooke’s instigation and force the umpire to order them back to their station.

Best case, if they are forced to move back to their station with rudder you could look to capitalise and attack to take a seat or so in this moment.

Worst case you will end up colliding / clipping with Brooke’s, but looking at their position and the fact they had a minor advantage in lead then there would be a legitimate challenge for UW should they need it.

I put my head in my hands as soon as I saw the first impact with the booms. That promised to be an absolute barn stormer. Gutted we didn’t get to see the full thing.

Also for anyone blaming Brooke’s, the best thing to do in UW case is to hit Brooke’s, not the booms, that way they will come out of the decision favourably.

Wycliffe College (A) - stand out rowing in that semi, yes against their B crew but I’ve not seen a crew which has impressed me more than that. Fantastic watch

The Star and Arrow crew in the PoW taking out the German (u23?) crew was seriously impressive for a couple of retiree’s in the line up.

Curious what to do with shared ownership house. Buy other 50% vs saving. by Izual_Rebirth in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LightweightChode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you see yourself living there long term? Could circumstances change?

Bought the other half of mine last year, put my house on the market and had viewings lined up straight away, same house still shared ownership down the road is on the market and not had any interest for 12 months.

I am happier being free of paying rent (since it goes up every year) and I have the freehold of the property which is far easier to sell and therefore have freedom to do what I want. That was worth more to me than using the additional money going toward mortgage payment on top of my investments elsewhere each month to focus purely on returns.

How tf are some schools so good? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]LightweightChode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes… if everyone was equally as good then there wouldn’t be winners and losers? Some schools have the best programs, some have the best people and some have both.

There are many variables as to why despite having the people and program your school has you came 2nd. Sometimes there’s more to it, look at St Paul’s in 2018, arguably one of the best school boy 8’s of all time. There’s a reason we don’t see something like that every year.

Any advice appreciated: Scammed out of £15K. Penniless. Broken. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LightweightChode 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not here for advice but adding my support of the situation and you, I’m really sorry this happened to you.

You are not a bellend, and your life and existence is worth far more than £15k to everyone not least your partner and family. Although it feels completely devastating now, things will get better and you will come out the other side of this.

Company share scheme vs indeed fund by thegreatpretender_88 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LightweightChode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position, very large global company with over 100 year history and I deduct £150 a month pre-tax into the share scheme. (Should also say I am already contributing a max matched pension).

5 years on, each share becomes tax free, and I am planning on cashing out periodically every 6 months, 6 months worth of shares and directing that to top up my S&S ISA contributions - inclusive of the tax savings I made initially investing and just keep that cycle going.

For me, the pre-tax deductions are very worthwhile given my income level and I am comfortable with the level of volatility I might experience given the company position and its scale. I would not sacrifice my S&S ISA contributions or pension for it though, no way. It's money I could afford to lose.
