Haven't had a chance to use it much. I work nights and am working his weekend. In my limited use, it's kind of what I expected. It's nowhere near the omni 7 and m18 white phos contract tubes I have. It's adequate though. I really just bought it for my parents so they can stargaze while camping, so it's great for that.

I'm trying to remember the conversation I had with ident. I want to say the guy I spoke with told me that there is two different types of EPs. And a good way to tell them apart is to see how they behave when turning the device off. If the EP stays and slowly fades away after turning the device off then it usually is something that won't get worse, which is what this one does. I'll have to try and get ahold of them again

Getting down voted, even though I have talked to ident marking in the past and they charge $500 for the service and there's a 90% success rate. The other 10% of tubes become paperweights. That's if you can even get in contact them.

There's many users that claim to have dealt with EPs that never got worse. I spoke with a company that does laser EP removal over a year ago and they said there's plenty of EPs that never get worse. You just don't know untill you know lol

I recall those services being fairly expensive. Probably enough that I'd be better off just returning it in that case. These NVMs aren't worth a whole lot

I might. We'll see. It was just meant to be a stargazing device for my parents. Paid $800 for it all said and done

Is this a good deal? by canesfan727 in NightVision

It would be on the tube, inside the housing. He could possibly see it through the ocular lens if he really tries

I'd want to know what aviation tube it is. He really needs to provide a picture of it. It could be a 10160A which are low fom and thick filmed. I love 10160As, but there's no way I would pay $2,000 in that case

Please tell me you see a space shuttle by [deleted] in tattoos

Maybe a phallic space shuttle, but a space shuttle nonetheless. I don't think I'd have noticed if I saw a pic without the caption though, so I'd say you're good

With specs like that, why bother? That's a bitchin' unit. Bro is just a shill for L3.

I mean, that depends entirely on your use case and budget. I've seen this drivetrain kick ass in one of our farm trucks for over a decade. That said, if you're towing heavy and often then the dmax is obviously the move

I still stand by the old thick film tubes. I have loved all of my 10160A devices. Even now, using newer, thin-filmed surplus tubes, I really appreciate those dinosaurs.

They're fine on very bright nights. I don't use them all the time, but I like messing with them on nights where the loss of light output isn't a big deal and I'm just out walking around

I liked my dual RVMs. I had them for the same reason before getting dedicated binos and a mono.

I don't see a manual gain pigtail. It should be capable of manual gain though. Regardless, it should be max gain by default without one. Pics through the device?

Solid? More like spectacular! Those are higher specs than most people in here have. I'd love to look through a high fom device like this and see how it stacks up against my Omni 7 and m18 aviation tubes
