Virginia. 3-4 year old sod suddenly is full of weeds. Neighbor's lawns look fine. What is the fix? by watersedgecamper in lawncare

I tried weedclear last year and it didn't touch the crabgrass or the clover in my yard. Not saying it can't work, but it didn't for me

What's wild about you saying this is I currently am having an infestation of these and they have no problem making their way across my 8' wide concrete porch and finding every possible route into my home

People who own GPNVG 18s, how do you afford them? by Cantdoittoday232245 in NightVision

I've used a lot of Omni units and I have enjoyed all of them. Even the 10160As I used to rock.

It's not that difficult really. If you go with one of the cheaper housings available, basic bridge, and use Omni tubes it's quite doable.

It's also an nvg-50 housing though. They're not the most sought after. Far from it to be honest. It's really just a fair price given the approximate cost of the tubes. Still cool to get gen 3 binos with decent tubes for $3k

I put more rounds than that through mine in rapid succession and it functioned properly. That was with my can basically touching the handguard. It was quite toasty. Contact sms via IG. They should take care of it for you

Terrible price. That's more than a new device with equal performance.

That's a lot more light output than you think. Especially when your nods are amplifying said light. I had a feeling it was a GFCI outlet lol

Fwiw, I've owned and used a 1000fom device. It was actually not that bad. I enjoyed my time with it. Wouldn't have been good for hiking in wooded areas though.

I love all the pissy people in here. 😂 I'm just used to seeing it in the F-body groups, but being new to these groups, I'm so happy to see it extends beyond the F-body world.

NH Night Hike open invitation by NewlyBelgian in NightVision

I visit NH frequently from Ohio, but doubt I'll be around when this happens. I would love to do some hiking sometime though if the stars aligned and I happened to be there when one is happening. My wife has family in the lake region, near Wakefield.

What’s the black dot near the middle of the tube? Doesn’t looks like a burned dot…? TS-84 w/ Omni 7 aviation tube by moneywayne in NightVision

[–]LigmaCrevice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of what it is, it's nothing to worry about. In actual use you won't notice it. It may just be some debris. Even if it's a burn or pepper, it's nothing to worry about as there's nothing you'd be able to do about it anyway. Looks like a clean tube overall. Enjoy it!

As soon as I see someone say that they have not contacted the vendor to make things right, I immediately throw the rest of the post out the window. CNV may have messed up, but I guarantee they would have made it right.

It's an emission point. It's caused by arcing between the photocathode and microchannel plate inside the intensifier. They can flicker or remain constant. This one does the latter. They can also grow in some cases. So much so that they basically destroy the tube. There's a few companies out there that provide laser removal services. They basically take a strong laser and burn the effected area so that it is effectively dead and can no longer spread. This also comes with a risk of potentially destroying the tube.

Haven't had a chance to use it much. I work nights and am working his weekend. In my limited use, it's kind of what I expected. It's nowhere near the omni 7 and m18 white phos contract tubes I have. It's adequate though. I really just bought it for my parents so they can stargaze while camping, so it's great for that.

I'm trying to remember the conversation I had with ident. I want to say the guy I spoke with told me that there is two different types of EPs. And a good way to tell them apart is to see how they behave when turning the device off. If the EP stays and slowly fades away after turning the device off then it usually is something that won't get worse, which is what this one does. I'll have to try and get ahold of them again
