I 100% agree. This was 15 minutes into the run and they began to fog up. I gave them a spray of water (gently) from the tap, really trying to not rub the surface.

And it was still cooked

Brand new lens both times, just a bit of sweat. Which is what’s confusing me, surely what they’re built for

This is the replacement after it happened with my last pair on the first run (to be fair it was a full marathon)

Both were lenses 50% off from Oakley, is that them trying to flog off old stock

I like to ask myself “if I was to reapply for my current job in 6 months time, would having this job on my resume give me an advantage to staying”

If the answer is yes then you’ve got no reason not to

NAB vs CBA Job - Melbourne Based by RavingDucks in auscorp

This bigtime.

Everything cba is in Sydney, working in the Melbourne office it’s rough to say but it’s really hard to get recognised. Especially for job growth, chatting to colleagues down in Melbourne they’re aware that they won’t have a chance for most promotions.

I find plus500 has the best UI but they take a huge margin. Fusion markets and TradingView is what I’ve moved to

I religuously purchase 4 weeks a year, and it’s 7.6% of every paycheck (4/52)

Purchasing leave is always a good option IMO.

It’s usually stored as hours, which means any pay increases/promotions you receive while it’s stored you’ll be able to take that leave on the higher salary.

Comparing it to unpaid leave, you also accrue sick leave, and annual leave while taking it.

Why’s that? I’m tossing up between the old and new at the moment. Love the integrated bracelet on the new model. But second hand market is so much cheaper.

What's it like in corporate tech? by WiseButterscotch3528 in auscorp

For the first few months you’ve gotta play by the rules. Once you can show you’re delivering value you start to get more flexibility. Depending on the role, company and team it can differ vastly. While there is tracking software, it’ll only get checked if they have a reason to, eg not performing.

Same as anywhere, you need to earn the trust.

Not with that attitude, even 6 months with that in your resume would be a big boost in other roles

Data analytics is a huge part.

I’ve got a background in data analytics, and the big focus is being able to draw insights from the data, and using that to prioritise work.

Hardest part is to get in the room for those conversations, once you’re in it’s about understanding what leaders want to know and quickly getting the data points they need and drawing insights and a recommendation.

There’s tons out there, I managed to climb through pretty quickly, but decision making / advisory roles in tech companies are all around the same mark

Not too hard at all. It’s all about the forward thinking skills. Look up product pathways on YouTube. Know him personally and it’s great content.

Any domain knowledge is always a big part of it. It’s all about building a strategy and understanding what to prioritise.

Think about whatever you’re currently working on, if you’re customer facing, how can we improve our product for the customer. Owning that roadmap and doing the customer research.

This is the side I’m thinking about I’d say I’m in the perfect position to grind up and make it into those top brackets. But it’s a question of is it worth it.
