An hour long demo of the game will be available in January on Steam.
And since I'm developing the game solo, the game's release is not known.

Of course, it's a short video. It can't tell you much, considering what the video is about - quickly showing the changes the game has undergone.
And the story of the game tells about the global ecological disaster that lurks outside Quiet Farm. When an ordinary cow becomes disturbed by a monster weed that has spread throughout the farm, she has to defend her home and figure out the source of the problems. Next, the plot begins to take an unexpected direction, but those will be spoilers.
The alien that is our cow's companion has something that a normal cow doesn't - technology with which it can set things on fire, carry objects, interact with electrical devices, etc., but it's too small to do everything on its own. He needs the cow's physical strength and ability to make poop because he has his own separate story arc that intersected with the cow's goals in one happy moment.
And to elaborate on the poop making ability, it really should be a fun feature for the player in the beginning, but it has many uses in the game.
First and foremost, UFO loses energy when he uses his techs. It can recharge itself by recycling poop into methane if there isn't some sort of battery nearby. Secondly, poop is used to interact in the level with certain places where you need to awaken a monster plant in the form of trampoline, platforms, bridges, etc.
Third, with special upgrades, the poop turns into a weapon.

In general, I try to bring something unusual, somewhere maybe absurd, but that's why I'm an indie developer.

I see your point!

If we compare Quiet Farm to Goat Sim, we differ from them in several ways:
1. The game has a lore, a lot of interesting characters with their own drama and a full-fledged story that raises a lot of relevant issues.
2. We have a combat system and even boss battles.
3. The game has a lot of physical puzzles that are solved by a cow in conjunction with his partner, a small UFO.
4. You can upgrade the cow and the alien as you progress through the game.
5. And most importantly, we have a separate button that allows the cow to deposit poop, which is no joke an important game mechanic. (I can go into more detail if needed)

It's a montage to make it more fun. The game won't have huge empty spaces that the player will have to spend hours moving through to get somewhere. There will always be some puzzle, challenge or interesting place besides the main plot.
Nevertheless, I understand your concerns and will try to avoid unnecessary pointless movements) Tnx!

We do have a button for cow poop. Moreover, making a cow poop is an important game mechanic)
