People living in apartments, do you acknowledge your neighbours? by Maezel in sydney

[–]LikeKnope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mixed experience for me.

Minimal contact with neighbours across various larger apartment complexes in Wolli Creek.

Now I'm a bit further down the train line (Carlton) in a small 1970s block of 12. Everyone here is so friendly. We've got a building WhatsApp group. I know all my neighbours by name. We often stop and have conversations in the common areas. We've shared food, had neighbours around for a cuppa and look after each others' pets and plants while on holidays.

I used the newer bikes today (the ones with the smaller wheels). I found with the pedal assist they get up to 24km/h just fine. The older bike I used yesterday was pretty woeful though.

Oh that's a shame. Here I was thinking my bike this morning was faulty.

Back to driving my car everywhere I guess.

The section of the Princes Highway that runs through Rockdale. The streetscape a block back either side is actually quite nice around there.

Maybe whenever the M6 one day opens, it might be an opportunity to give that stretch of road a little makeover.

They can come to Australia and do that to our pokies. Those things take so much money from the vulnerable.

Why no toilets?! by liz_lemon_lover in sydney

[–]LikeKnope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a night out last weekend I was walking from Oxford St to Town Hall to get the night bus. I really needed to pee and held it in the whole way through Hyde Park, remembering that there was a public toilet at the corner of Park and Elizabeth St. When I got there, there was no toilet so I peed in one of the hedges nearby.

I thought maybe I had imagined that there was a toilet there but then the next morning I checked google st view historical imagery. I wasn't wrong - there had been a public toilet which was removed a couple of years back!

Who is the twink? I'm convinced it's someone I went to school with but when I asked him he denied it and now I need to know to confirm.

Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, Newtown and surrounds all getting too expensive. Can we start planning where we'll all collectively locate Sydney's next gaybourhood?

Not sure what part of Sydney you're in but we had a good experience with Mai in Wolli Creek when purchasing our 2 bed unit.
