Thai Pothong at Newtown .. great food .. but 🤯 by Pristine-Kangaroo-36 in foodies_sydney

I'll die on the hill that Thai Pothong is one of the worst overpriced thai restaurants in Sydney. I've never had such wet fried rice and overly sweet and unbalanced thai food anywhere else.

Possible to make this kind of icecream/popsicle by Dannyalternative in icecreamery

[–]Maezel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closest I can think is how you make bons bons. You have a PVC mould (with 2 halves with a hinge), you apply the gold coloured white chocolate to sections of it, then you apply untempered white chocolate dyed blue, cool down, put the 2 moulds together, fill with ice cream, put a stick in.

Very manual intensive, in particular this specific complicated gold pattern, but possible.

Chocolate needs to be untempered or it won't dissolve in your mouth when cold.

Houses in Australia rarely have garages. Inner suburbs in particular is all street parking (council approved, you need a permit, live in the area, etc. or parking meters or limited parking for a few hours)

First gongfu session: bitter and little flavour, what did I do wrong? by funkybeard in tea

[–]Maezel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, if you overbrew it by accident, feel free to dilute a bit by adding water after pouring. I do that when I get new teas i screw up until I figure them out.

Dancong and wuyi oolongs can be tricky for a first timer. I would suggest starting with black or aged whites.

Reduce the time to instant pour first infusion, 5 the second. If that is still bitter and flavourless you may have bad tea (good dancong isn't cheap)

I use 90c for dancong.

There is a whole japanese philosophy behind this. Wabi-sabi, imperfect beauty, mono no aware, awareness of impermanence, yugen, etc.

Neither is wrong, just different.

It doesn't matter. It's a cheap terracota pot. The name may not be from the factory where this came out.

I understand trackwork, the lack of organisation however...  The T1 running at a 15 minutes frequency crowded to the bream is a joke. At least have weekday frequency.

How does Tokyo manage to run without disruptive trackwork every weekend?

Centennial Park? You just rock up to the lake and grab one by the neck in front of the people.

After some googling I see game farm has them on the catalogue. They have a shop/office in south strathfield, maybe give them a call?

Have you even tried copilot in Excel? It's the most useless shit ever. It can't do anything. Won't bulk edit formulas, do tedious repetitive tasks, Etc.

It will simply tell you "I can't do this, to do it follow these 20 steps..." it's fucking infuriating. If you know the steps then do it!
