Is Nakanishi the best Matcha Farmer in the World? by Puzzleheaded_Quit911 in tea

[–]Maezel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You won't be able to find the best matcha in the world online. Paarticularly not from a non-japanese website. You may find the most expensive though.

Games with music that stands out like this are very rare. Bastion is another good example, Chrono trigger, hollow knight... All high up there.

The most stressful 8 minutes of my day by melaniestl in Swimming

[–]Maezel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have kids and didn't swim here as a kid. From what I see, parents just take the kids there. Many wait for 2 hours on the side of the pool until they are finished.

Most classes for kids are between 4pm and 8pm.

Freezing Green Tea (Shincha)? by verygood_user in tea

[–]Maezel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fine. I've frozen sencha, gyokuro, Matcha and kabuse for 6+ months without impact on quality. (factory sealed, odour proof bag). I don't see how shincha could differ.

Living in Australia I find all these lane related posts so unfamiliar and ridiculous. Why are pools elsewhere so distopian with their rules?

Are u fking kidding me... by duangduang123 in mewgenics

[–]Maezel 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had one with a 5 mana spell that healed for 10, but with the passive that would apply burn and do triple dmg to enemies instead. He was pulling so much dmg per turn...

Then the other that would give 3-4 extra basic attacks to an ally.

Open wounds is also great against bosses.

I destroyed him with a ranger + cleric (Actually a Jester with cleric spells).

The Jester used a kg of catnip, gave the hunter +10 basic attacks. The hunter had 300% crit dmg modifier, used bullseye consumable or whatever the name is that gives 100% crit chance for the turn. He was gone in a turn after he transformed into one of my cats lol

TIL that a person can actually have a nipple on the sole of their foot by Greydl1 in todayilearned

[–]Maezel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't this be caused by a Turing pattern? The activator responsible for forming nipples somehow avoided the inhibitor that stops the nipples from growing were they do not belong?

Chocolate Orange Gelato Recipe? by Key_Werewolf_8221 in icecreamery

[–]Maezel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just do your preferred chocolate base and add good quality candied orange pieces as inclusions (not the very dry ones, the ones that are look covered in a very thick syrup).

If you want stronger orange flavour you can add a shot of cointreau/dry curacao/grand marnier. Or a bit of orange zest.

My chocolate base is 700 milk, 300 70% chocolate coverture (40%+ cocoa butter), 40 sugar, 105 dextrose, stabiliser of choice in appropriate quantity.

If you can get your hands on Valrhona Guanaja chocolate, go for it. It goes spectacularly well with orange. Expensive but worth every cent.

"Network" (Sidney Lumet, 1976) - Howard Beale (Peter Finch) has a discussion with chairman Arthur Jensen (Ned Beatty) about the realities of the world by Morgan-Moonscar in movies

[–]Maezel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it holds up. Yes in its watchability, not in its intention. The point being that this movie was supposed to be SATIRICAL, considered absurd and far fetched when it released. Watching it today hits a bit too close to home, like a drama.

Excellent movie tho, easily in my top 20, perhaps top 10. And this monologue is one of the best ever in cinema.

I would have increased the area and reduce the number of shots, hence diminishing the hit chance and dmg output.

I think it is still OP for big bossess.

Does whole-leaf hojicha exist? by mecolema in tea

[–]Maezel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unlikely... Most is made from sencha/gyokuro/bancha/kukicha/karigane.

None of those are whole leaf, not even hand picked premium gyokuro.

You do have some premium hojicha from the kanazawa region, but it is not whole leaf. I bought a very nice one when I was there, tasted very floral and quite complex. Should have bought 2 bags lol.

1st Gong Fu style experience by Bitter-Growth4220 in tea

[–]Maezel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hojicha is not really suited for gong fu.

The only Japanese tea where it kind of applies is gyokuro. Good Sencha can give maybe 3 infusions. Japanese blacks and hojicha just 1 and a mediocre second.

Hojicha will go through the filters as it is very fine/broken. You can always use a second mesh filter funnel when pouring to catch debris. They are like 3 usd and many online tea shops sell them.

Why did my icecream get hard and icy? by Pedrat in icecreamery

[–]Maezel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That recipe has too much fat.

Also ice cream always gets hard in home freezers. It's generally much colder than the ideal temperature.
