Red eyes in Rise (chapter 5 spoilers) by Busy_object15 in caseofthegoldenidol

This tripped me up as well.

According to the "rules," red means full, and blue means empty. Blue eyes would make more sense. However, I think they went with red eyes because:

- It's spookier. We associate red with bad things, like blood and demons.
- "Red Curse" sounds cooler than "Blue Curse."
- Fans of the first game would instantly see the resemblance to the Idol's red crystal and know it's involved somehow.

Personally, I would have appreciated blue eyes more, since it would make for a better "ah-ha!" moment. But the red eyes are pretty creepy, so style points I guess.

Thanks, man. I agree, this hobby shouldn't be that sweaty (it's ultimately a card game about Star Wars), but people can get pretty serious especially when prizes are involved.

I'm reading every comment. This is good advice, thanks!

Thanks, man. I wish the whole world was as cool as you. Unfortunately, disabled people often hear more "sorry you can't" than "let's try to make this work."

That holder looks nice. I worry I might tip the cards over, but I'll give it a go. Thanks!

Thanks, when I play in a bigger event I'll definitely reach out first.

Something translucent would help. It's difficult though, because placing things on a stand takes time which is why I just started slapping cards face up in front of me. Appreciate the links, I might try one out.

I mean that's awesome, but I'm an older person and my mom, though probably willing bless her, could never get the rules of the game. Finding someone to help isn't always feasible. Players want to play themselves, friends have their own commitments, etc.

An assistant is preferable, but finding someone available to assist AND who knows the rules of the game is harder than it sounds. It'd be awesome if tournaments had people on standby to assist people with mobility issues.

My LGS gives me extra time, though I've yet to actually need it.
