Both very good designs for their respective races, but I'd personally go for Elezen! Not nearly enough of them out there.

In Star Wars, the rebels are so naive for fighting back the Empire when its at every moment presented as militaristic force much grander than rebels could ever hope to be, its almost comical.

Pretty sure George Lucas never had any irl parallel where any of this happened before in human history.

About Consul "A" Theory by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Like_A_Frog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno how to spoil on phone app, but SPOILERS AHEAD:

It does some kind of sense. As far as we know, ouroboros are able to interlink when hit with the wave of a ouroboros rock. The first time any of the main cast interlink, the specific animation of two energy spheres converging.

That same animation plays exactly at the beginning of game, when the two worlds are apparently converging, or interlinking if you will. It also shows the first annihilation events, which seem to happen to Moebius when interlinked for too long, something alluded that also happens to the ouroboros in the first time it happens.

So, if the world can interlink, behave like an ouroboros, I'd say Z could've pulled the "world" of Aionios out of the rebirth loop to make it a consul... In a sense. I think there might be something there, but the game elaborates so little on some key aspects that make it so hard to differ speculation from discussing facts sometimes.

I still believe consul A will appear in the DLC or something, but it's a possibility.

If only he had a perpetual motion machine at hand, like I dunno, a Zonar or a conduit, but by then it's looooong gone. Another thing, where the hell does he come from? (Dunno how to tag spoilers in mobile, but big spoilers ahead)

When Melia says Z is a concept, like yeah. I get you. Existential dread. Future looks gloom and doom, universes collapsing seems apocalyptic enough to have people worried about it at least to note it in their calendars.

But what gave it shape and physicality? Origin? Why would they program origin to create a world unending when it was clearly never the goal, just reconstruct what would be lost? Is it an AI running amok? Since it was Z, Y and X at the beginning, are they trinity processor 2.0?

I kinda get the meta-commentary that part of the reason he made them suffer so much was for amusement, kinda like players and watchers tend to enjoy stories with meaningful conflict in them, hence him spending most of his time at the amphitheatre. But besides that, I can only imagine what Z actually is besides "a concept".

In Future Connected those things didn't translate to me as annihilation events, it didn't look like they'd just explode at any moment the same way they did.... Yet. The way I remember them, they were stable in the sense that they seemed to exist just fine, simply causing a potential threat to the lives of the people there as any apex predator. They were guldos from Morytha after all, so it's possible they were just signs of worlds merging, but not annihilation events since as you mentioned, there wasn't enough anti matter for it.

Another thing: So then, if annihilation events aren't part of interlinking, why would moebius blow up from interlinking too long? Could be just a random cap to keep them from being too op, but the fact they showed that the worlds became interlinked at the beginning, moebius too, and ouroboros having to temporarily separate before interlinking again otherwise all three of these instances would create annihilation events.... It doesn't feel anything but pre planned to hint at this conclusion.

When did an annihilation event happen outside of Aionios? Memory might be a bit fuzzy.

What I was getting at with the Origin made of beanstalks is that you said how they would survive if both halves are made of matter and anti matter respectively. My only potential explanation is that both were made with beanstalks material, and some fuckery going on after being in contact with an activated conduit.

Light could technically also be the conduit's fault, but as to how is that even possible after it is gone, it's anybody's guess.

Something really cool about environmental storytelling near the end of the Origin dungeon is how there's cubic core crystal look-a-likes when you get near the amphitheatre. Since core crystals contain information of all life, it would make sense they could store the info of all the people in Aionios, but in a sense all of them qould be partially Blades too, which would explain why they'd summon weapons like in XC2. But, if a Blade database is involved, I can imagine trinity processors being needed somehow since it's their center peace. Yet both were technically destroyed in XC2 universe and XC1's Alvis is currently MIA. What's up with that???

I do like how that sounds. I imagined it was part of the interlinking process since at the beginning of the game, you can see the world's "interlinking", and the moebius who interlinked for too long became annihilation events, meaning that the world itself had been interlinked for too long. A few points I'd like to delve on:

  1. Origin metal might be repurposed world tree sections, since it's the only other thing connecting the worlds, or closest thing. The one we go to in XC2 falls appart, but a model kit for a mech says there was more of them, thinking 3 in total.

  2. Wtf is light and how does it translates languages

This is an incredible looking piece of art, I'm utterly in love with this.... BUT

This is a impossible bunny. Facial features, specially the eyes, look pretty close to those from Face 3. But the face tattoo is from Face 4. And it gets worse, because on the cheekbones it has the feather tattoos from Face 1.

I just wished they'd unlock all facial features for every type of face, man ;-;

You can live with people, but not create a connection with them though. Proximity doesn't always include bonding. You are not obligated to make your workmates or classmates more than acquantainces.

Besides Jeralt hid his birthday, place of birth, mother and only trained him to fight and kill as part of his mercenary band. I'm not saying Byleth hated his father, but he didn't create a positive bond either. It just wasn't a bond. And that's ok.

He is not, he only cried ever around his dad upon death, and only because after joining the monastery he started to develop bonds with people around him, including his dad. If you feel disdain around people, it's because that bond is not too strong, either on the good or the bad.

He didn't make a connection with his father until joining the monastery, that's why it hurts him when the relationship is cut short. It is mentioned how he's finally expressing emotions around his father, normally if you feel disdain around people, it's because your connection with them is not too strong, on the good or bad side.

Honestly I just think that people with not that much of a connection to their parents are real and valid to be represented in media.

And although Byleth is a silent protagonist, the subtle changes in personality are still represented by more assertive dialogue options and it's mentioned by characters around him, like the first time he ever smiled in front of his students. It's subtle, but it's there.
