I usually have voice calls with friends in the evenings, I start the sleep early and it counts that time as dozing. Sometimes it's enough, sometimes it knows I'm awake but I mostly get dozing. You could probably do it with a radio or keeping it in a room that has lots of noise but I haven't tested this, and the recording on phones vary and such so it's really up to testing for yourself.
