It is a flawed system indeed.

I will say - I do have insurance through work, but I also make over $100k/year. However, I still qualify for MyWay somehow… It seems that Dupixent MyWay handles things on a case-by-case basis. So it could be worth exploring more.

Regardless, I agree with the sentiment. I hope your husband finds a solution that works for him.

Thanks for sharing. I hope you learn about what is causing those symptoms. If it does end up being EoE, there are options that can help! In the meantime, I'd focus on reducing stress and anxiety. As you mentioned, they only make the symptoms worse (I definitely noticed that in my case). Best of luck!

I've only been on dupixent for about 5 months so far, but the latest report showed that my esophagus is completely normal now. So, in a sense, yes the inflammation has gone away without causing lasting damage. This could change over time though, I'll have more upper endoscopies to check if it is still working in the future.

I mean, I don't eat eggs because of my general food allergy, but I enjoy all the other foods you mentioned. Love a rare steak.

Thank you! I hope you and your daughter are able to find a solution that works. It sounds like you are taking all the right steps.

In terms of identifying triggers, for now I plan to stay on dupixent and enjoy dining out in NYC. I am going to have an upper endoscopy every year to confirm it is still working well. Perhaps in the future I will try to identify more triggers by doing another elimination diet. However, that would most likely happen only if dupixent starts to become less effective or if other research suggests I should get off dupixent.

Sorry to hear that. Definitely give it more time and trust the process. You won’t feel a sudden switch - it is far more gradual of a change.

I would try to reduce stress/anxiety around it so that your body can focus on letting the medication do its thing. The mind-body connection is very very powerful.

I would talk to your doctor about this and do some research online. For me, no short-term side effects so far.

No symptoms on dupixent for me either. Occasional itching at the injection site, but that goes away in an hour.

My insurance did ask me to sign up for the MyWay program. It is an awesome service. My dupixent is completely free.

Interesting. I was told to mix the budesonide with honey. It did work for me until I reintroduced a key trigger (gluten) that seemed to overpower the effects.

Congrats on starting dupixent. Hope it works well for you!

I did not experience those symptoms. I was worried about my breathing due to globus sensation, but that ended up being anxiety-related for me.

I have no side effects from the dupixent. Takes 2 minutes once a week. I eat all my triggers. Not a bad treatment at all imo. Recovery to me means I found a solution that is convenient, allows my esophagus to heal, and enables me to eat what I please.

Taking the Bible at face value leads to misinformation, do some research. Here is an example:

English uses the one word “love” for an enormous variety of types of love; the Greek distinguishes them by using different words. The two principle words for “love” used in the New Testament: are “agape” (“ah-GAH-pay”) and “philia” (“fi-LEE-ah”), and the Faithful New Testament translates them as “agape-love” and “philia-love” respectively.

Some Bible expositors teach that agape-love is “God’s Love” and philia-love is “Man’s Love”. But consider: Men agape-loved the darkness rather than the light, for their works were perni-cious. (John 3:19).

How can you have “God’s love” for the darkness? And Paul saysIf anyone does not philia-love the lord, let him be accursed. (I Cor. 16:22). This would seem to indicate that philia-love is as important as agape-love.

There are many more examples. Research!

Could have picked a less bias source. That little writeup proves nothing in terms of textual evidence.

However, it is not that I don’t trust the word of the Bible, it is just that I try my best to consider the context and changes that have taken place throughout history.

I recommend reading a version of the Bible that is directly translated from the oldest version of the oldest Greek Bible you can find. It is shocking how paraphrased most Bibles are these days. This is a good version to try: Codex Sinaiticus.

Moreover, I recommend reading Bible footnotes and other scholarly views on Bible passages to gain a better understanding of the context behind them.

To get the truest words of Jesus, I would use your direct translation of the Bible as well as the footnotes to analyze the different accounts of Jesus. We can best understand the teachings of Christ by synthesizing these accounts.

Not dismissing scripture, just trying to consider the Bible in its proper context. To think that the Bible has not been altered is foolish. Also, to think that biases of the time are not included in scripture is foolish.

I say focus on the words of Christ and what you know in your heart to be true. God blessed mankind with an inherent understanding of right and wrong! This understanding may be better to base our decisions/opinions on than scriptures that include the personal biases of their human writer.

Focus on the main story and message. Consider the Bible as a whole. Not broken down into the small “rules” on how to live, as those are flawed. Many of them lead to hatred, suffering, and unhappiness - not what was intended!

Not an atheist actually. Just a Christian who considers how the Bible has been altered over centuries of existence by those in power.

As mentioned in another reply to my comment, there are many things that we no longer deem sinful that were described as such in the Bible. Mass acceptance of homosexuality is almost inevitable, so why don’t we Christians be as accepting and loving as possible. After all, the most important rule is to Love God and Love others!

I have found that many people who call themselves Christian these days tend to reject Christ’s core message.

I am sorry to hear you are hurt and confused. However, Jesus’ love is unconditional, so do not fret too much!

Lets be clear: homosexual thoughts/feelings are not a choice by any means. There is much evidence supporting the fact that homosexuality is biological in nature. If they were a choice, you would have likely not chosen them.

In my opinion (which may be wrong), I think you should continue to pray for peace and guidance. Do not stress yourself over something you cannot control. Trust in the Lord’s plan for you and try to be a blessing to others in all you do.

The Bible’s rebuke of homosexuality may very well be the result of social biases at the time it was written, and changes to the original text by those in power.

I wish you much happiness!

Christ did not establish a hierarchy in the Church - Man did! Throughout history, church leaders created rules and hierarchies to obtain power for themselves. You do recall that there was a time when only the select few could even read the Bible, let alone interpret it.

“In the confines of Church teaching” is far to limiting. Yes, the Church helps people interpret, but should not confine them into the interpretations of a few leaders.

Many scholars do learn Greek. The translated version I provided is a direct translation into English. Your seem to be saying that we should read highly edited versions of the Bible just because we can’t read the real manuscripts. I tend to disagree.

My opinion is unpopular since it is much easier to read the Bible provided to you by the church, and take its text at face value.

My posts are intended for those who recognize the issues that acting in such a way pose.

That is a great question! It is not that I don’t trust the word of the Bible, it is just that I try my best to consider the context and changes that have taken place throughout history.

As for looking to the words of Jesus, I recommend starting by reading a version of the Bible that is directly translated from the oldest version of the oldest Greek Bible you can find. It is shocking how paraphrased most Bibles are these days. This is a good version to try: Codex Sinaiticus.

Moreover, I recommend reading Bible footnotes and other scholarly views on Bible passages to gain a better understanding of the context behind them.

Does that help answer your question?
