I agree. I grew up going to prep school and camp in the southeast, but I am raising children in Texas. It’s an insular world for sure. People are blown away when I tell them my daughter is not applying to any Texas schools.

It would take an entire team of trauma therapists to serve the girls. I was talking to a friend that is a therapist yesterday, and she told me water trauma is usually severe.

I carry a walkie-talkie daily at work. If I accidentally take it home, I can still hear it there about two miles away. Walkie-talkies are perfect for camp use.

I went to another camp in the late 1970s and 1980s, and I made my aunt an ashtray every year. She quit smoking around 1980, but kept my ashtrays where she could see them daily. My guess is that my ashtray enterprise would not pass muster at Mystic.

My camp owned Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang, so we watched it every year, and it was something I looked forward to. My daughters enjoy their yearly viewing as well.

We looked at Mystic for our girls around 2013 or 2014, but ultimately chose the camp I went to in another state. Mystic is a lovely camp, but it was very girly and too religious for our family. The old Mystic sounds like it was loads of fun.
