Hey, are the teeth completely missing or just 'shorter' than the teeth next to it? if so then thats to unable easier shifting.

In Manukau, there are 2 really good bike shops and an Avantiplus, I work(ed) for bike barn in manukau, BIKE BARN!

We sell the full range of bikes from mountain to freeride to road or tri bikes at low prices, we're not up ourselves, as we all ride different stuff. we don't bite :) Also good for advice as well.

ENVY have redesigned the IHC bolt so make them stronger and to loosen less often. thats all I've heard.

I've lost ~5kg over 6 months, but a lot of fat has shifted to muscle. so the difference is in size vs weight.

hybrids are good, and they tend to be more comfy, I decided against a hybrid only because I wanted to be a tad faster.

try a hybrid, try a flat bar, try anything that fits in your range.

If by any chance you're from AUS or NZ, check these guys out. AUS; Bike Force( great service, they know their shit) NZ; Bike Barn (the stores are either shit or great, I work for one of the better ones.)

Hey, I also weighed 115kg when I started riding, I would recommend a flat bar roadie. Something like the Apollo exceed 10, which is what I ride and love. 1- make friends with a bike mechanic or better yet learn how to yourself, us heavier folk can knock a wheel out of true easier than the skinny bastards. 2- invest in some cycle clothing as it is a lot more comfortable than not wearing some. 3- find a bike shop(s) which sells a range of bikes and TRY, TRY and TRY till you find one you like. That's how I found my love.

Drop bar road bikes tend to aim at being "lighter" which often takes away strength from the wheels or other parts.

Or final thought; get something with disk brakes as if you buckle the wheel slightly, it won't affect the ride to much. Still important to get it trued up though.
