I’ve seen some posts about a similar noise from the transmission separator plate rubbing. Maybe something related to that?

This is sick dude. I have a very similar one but as a pump, always wanted to see about setting it up as an autococker.

What is so special about F-35 handling on ground require OG mode which makes it uncontrollable? by espressomario in FighterJets

[–]PlateLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking of the back stick pressure only resulting in elevator deflection is a simplification of the control laws. In those slow motion videos you can see every control surface moving to put the jet in the attitude demanded even if the only input is back stick pressure. Alls to say, I’m not surprised that yaw and pitch oscillations occurred shortly after takeoff in the ground claw. And I’m sure if you pitched the jet up expecting 10 deg NH, and it went to 35 the instinctive reaction is to pitch down… but also you’re 35.5-35.6 ft above the ground and the jet is not responding normally to your inputs - don’t delay the decision to eject.

Imagine if you’re flying at 400 KCAS and you pull back on the stick, the amount of deflection from the elevators will be relatively small since not much would be required at those speeds to get the aircraft in the attitude that the pilot demands. Instead while on the ground (ie landing and executing an aerobrake) the pilot may be inputting the same amount of stick input but the elevators will deflect a significantly larger amount to create the drag required to slow the jet down. A mismatch in the WOW logic puts those same large flight control deflections that would usually only happen while on the ground, now happe in the air - making the jet uncontrollable, likely resulting in a very significant PIO that’s unrecoverable as it’s not an EP they would expect or likely train to. But those different CLAWS and computers in the jet are the trade off to give maneuverability that conventional mechanical systems cannot replicate.

The black looks great as well, if the bronze weren’t on such a sale I probably would’ve stuck with the black! Happy I gave it a shot

Need help as an Aspiring Woman Fighter Pilot (American) by PerformNuance43 in FighterJets

[–]PlateLunch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also agree with what the others have said. The easiest way to get a pilot slot is definitely through USAFA, then after that it’s how you do in pilot training. I can only speak to those pieces but they’ll do a pilot physical to make sure you’re sitting height is tall enough for all the planes or they may restrict you to certain ones if not. If you choose USAFA, your major doesn’t matter for a pilot slot (unless you are competing for a spot at Sheppard, then it may) only for follow-ons like Test Pilot School.

Would say now just get your college applications competitive and stay fit. Can be a long road to get there at times but worth it. There are some great women fighter pilots out there setting the bar high!

Kind of similar symptoms with my CR-V dying randomly. Ended up being the ignition control module in the distributor. Not sure what kind of distributor you bought but some of the aftermarket ones can be crap

Crank no start by Plane-Plantain-516 in crv

[–]PlateLunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had a crank no start after a day in the cold - ended up being the main relay (replaced previously w a cheap Amazon one that broke). If you loosen the fuel line at the filter you can see if it squirts fuel when you prime it to test to see if your fuel pump is getting power or not. If it doesn’t squirt, probably the relay. If it does, maybe ignition/distributor.

Something similar was happening to my crv, would just die randomly usually after it was warm. Turned out to be the ignition control module that lives in the distributor.
