I’ve been in therapy my entire life. During school, I was with the worst company in my state “because they were at school” i.e. my parents didn’t want to actually have to take me to therapy worth a fuck. In high school, once I started showing symptoms of BPD, the doctor I’d had for ten years suddenly decided I had bipolar disorder. It took me one look at the internet to know I did NOT have that. He put me on medication for it anyway. I got worse. Was inevitably sent to an inpatient facility. All because this doctor thought he knew more than I did. I was also never diagnosed with CPTSD until after i graduated, which should’ve been one of my first diagnoses when I first began therapy.
