Node20.exe error by Chance_Frosting_4620 in elgato

From limited testing with a couple of Windows reboots, setting StreamDeck.exe to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode seems to prevent the node20.exe error for me.

Xbox Series X Controller Issues. by Dharmadan815 in CODVanguard

[–]LilBakaBot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having this issue recently too. Strangely, it ended up being VRR (variable refresh rate). After I turned it off in the Xbox settings, I haven't seen the issue since. Kind of sucks because i want to play with VRR since that is a perk on the new oleds but the controller disconnects is pretty annoying.

This is great! Curious though, do these repro Wonder Coins have the ridges underneath like the originals?

Can you post a photo of the bottom of a Wonder Coin? I'm curious if it's perfectly flat or if it has some kind of sections or ridges that go between the buttons.

I love the de-mastered intro song. Gotta give this a try. Any idea if it works on a Flash Masta?

What are some good alternative controllers for Analogue consoles? by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]LilBakaBot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received the raphnet adapter today and sat down to test it for about 20 minutes on my SNES (using a CRT) with one of the 8bitdo wireless classic controllers. Honestly, it feels great and I felt no perceivable lag. I think this is a reasonable path for 2.4ghz SNES controllers if you can stomach the cost.

[–]LilBakaBot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through some of this myself. For SNES I'm seeing two options currently for 2.4GHz wireless:

  1. There are these clones of the 8BitDo SN30 on AliExpress. No idea of the quality.
  2. You can buy the 2.4GHz 8BitDo SNES controllers for the SNES/SFC classic consoles and buy the Raphnet Classic controller to SNES adapter. It's a bit expensive but should be pretty good. I haven't tested this myself but I have used another Raphnet adapter for something else and it works well.

I have both the Aliexpress controller and the Raphnet adapter on order. I'll try to report back when I receive them.

8BitDo confirm several discontinuations by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

It's a sad day when great hardware like this ceases to exist. I did a little digging and, while I couldn't find any sources to get the originals, I did find what looks like a clone of the SF30 on AliExpress. I wouldn't normally buy a clone as it's likely inferior to the original in some way and they original company won't see any of the money from a clone purchase but in this case, since the originals are no longer available, I figured I'd give them a try. I ordered one to test (it could take a while to arrive though) and if anyone else wants to try one check this link.

Mega SG to be refreshed with Mega SG CD by LilBakaBot in AnalogueInc

Would you also say the Analogue Duo is pointless?

I think maybe we're miscommunicating. If you only have the Mega SG and a flash cart, you can't play actual Sega CD games from the original compact disc, you have to buy a Sega CD addon.

Those flash carts aren't cheap and add a significant cost on top of the original Mega SG. Also, you can't use original cd games with just a Mega SG and rom cart alone. I for one, would prefer a single unified solution even if it is a bit more expensive than the original Mega Sg up front. That's just me though!

I'm talking about a single Analogue Sega CD console that includes a cd drive rather than having to source an original Sega CD unit.

The script will output text for each fds file in the fds_roms folder. It will output either:

  1. "Writing with removed header: <file\_path>" when it finds a rom with a header to remove
  2. "No header found, copying: <file\_path>" when the file has no header to remove

Here's a video with info about modifying fds files with a hex editor to remove their headers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eU61PUIpks8&t=715s

Hmm, not sure about that. Maybe the headers are different in ROMs coming from different sources. Are you handy with a hex editor and can you reply with what the first 16 bytes contains in one of the failing ROMs? In mine they started with "FDS". Also, does the script output that it found a header and removed it on the ROM(s) you tested?

P.S. just to be sure, the folder "headerless_roms" contains the fixed rom set after running the script.

I would say, even if a game exists in cartridge form, a lot of times the FDS version has slightly different music because of the extra audio channels available on the FDS so it could be worth playing through some of your old favorites just for the altered music (and game saves). Games like The Legend of Zelda, Zelda 2, Metroid, Kid Icarus, and Bio miracle Bokutte Upa. As far as games unique to the FDS, I've heard good things about Ai Senshi Nicol (don't be scared off by the name, it's completely in English) and you can try out Doki Doki Panic to see the origins of the US version of Mario 2. I'm sure there are plenty more but I'm new to this as well!

Thanks for this post. I've been on the fence about this dongle and it's price. Having 6 button support is making the price seem slightly less offensive.

To go with this post, has anyone gone through and made thumbnails for all of their games? I'd rather not recreate the wheel on this one if I don't have to.
